Background: Today is August 10th, marking Peter's 16th birthday. Since it's the weekend, he didn't have to worry about the attention at school. He planned to have a nice relaxing day with just him and his aunt, but a certain group of people have other plans.

Peter was sitting on the old couch in the living room. His head was resting on his Aunt May's shoulder. Her fingers traveled through his brown curls as they watched the movie on the television. Peter glanced at the window, seeing that the sky had begun to turn a shade of orange and some pink was brushed along the underside of the clouds outside.

How pretty...

Peter decided to take in the moment as much as he could, allowing his senses to pick up the environment as he shut his eyes.

He could feel May's warm breath against his forehead. His scalp tingled as she played with his hair, running her fingers through the brown mess of curls, occasionally twisting one of the curls with her fingers. Peter could hear the relaxing sound of her heartbeat. He focused his attention on the consistent rhythm, relaxing as the sound of the television faded as his concentration grew.

Was she always this warm?

His left cheek felt warm against May's shoulder. Peter could feel himself move, rising and falling slightly with every breath his aunt took. For once, Peter felt completely relaxed. All thoughts escaped him. There was no Flash or homework, no money problems, no crime, no avengers, no Spider-Man. Just Peter Parker on his birthday with the best aunt in the world.

Happy Birthday to me...

Today had been a perfect day. Peter woke up to the smell of chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Aunt May had planned on finishing the surprise before Peter woke up, but as both of them would admit, it was much nicer to finish cooking the breakfast together. Peter had managed to get some batter on his nose, and made some growing old jokes while donning a fresh milk mustache.

After getting ready for the day, Aunt May had taken Peter to the park nearby for lunch, making sure to stop by the best sandwich shop in all of Queens. The two had laughed the whole walk there, eating underneath a large tree. Peter had done some cartwheels in the grass, while May cheered him on.

Coming home, the two were both a little tired. Peter's legs felt like lead and May was the first to plop down on the couch. She pretended to be dead, sticking her tongue out for extra effect, which earned her a few chuckles from the teen.

This led them back to this moment, sitting on the couch, watching some old movies.

"Happy Birthday Pete." May whispered.

She planted a kiss on Peter's forehead as she continued to play with his hair. Peter simply smiled and held her free hand, taking a moment to look up at her.

"Thanks May. Today was the best."

The sun had set, and the two of them had decided to sleep.

Well, at least May decided to.

Peter was in his room, his suit on, his mask left as the last thing to put on.

Just a little midnight stroll couldn't hurt, right?

Peter decided that the best way to end the day would be to go for a short swing around the city. He loved feeling the cold night breeze chilling his skin through his suit. Besides, the city looked beautiful at night.
