I slowly open my eyes but with a struggle because my eyes felt extremely heavy. I was in a pitch black room and I couldn't open my mouth. All I heard was screaming and things breaking.

"Get out of my house before I call the police!" I hear my mom yell.

"I'll kill you before you even get to the phone!" The man screams back.

Then I hear nothing...complete silence.

The silence breaks with running feet, my mom screaming, and breaking glass.

"Ahh! Get away from me!" my mom yells.

I try to get up but realized my hands were tied together behind my back, and my ankles were tied also.

While I struggled up, the door swung open.

The man came bolting through and started running towards me but as he was running towards me my mom tackled him on his back and pounded his head with a champagne glass and he passed out with blood running down his forehead.

My mom untied me, and left the room instantly.

I guess she was going to call the police but when I got up I heard her walk out the front door.

I got up and stepped over the man and ran to the phone. I called 9-1-1 and ran outside. I ran to my front yard and hid behind a tree and crouched down.

"Hello what's your emergency?" A woman answered.

I responded and answered all the questions and then when I hung up, I already heard sirens.

When the police cars came up to the front of my dingy house, I hopped up and ran to them.

They brought an ambulance just in case it was needed. My head was pounded with something which probably explains why I blacked out. But they said I didn't have to go to a hospital unless my head hurts for a while.

They brought out the guy a couple minutes later and stuffed him in the police car while he was still unconscious. A woman officer came to me.

"Do you have a guardian with you?" She asked.

"Nope," I said back with my arms crossed.

"How old are you?" she asked without even a smile.

"I'm 14, how old are you?" I say squinting my eyes.

"Listen girl, I ask these questions because its my job, you don't need an attitude, we saved you," she said putting her finger in my face.

"You were the one with the attitude! You saved me because it's your freakin job!" I yell,"You wouldn't save me if you weren't getting paid! You can't even give me a simple smile to cheer me up after all this!"

She straightened her back and made a straight face. "This is my job you can go back inside now," she turns and walks away.

"So what about my house!?" I yell as she's walking. "There's lots of glass all over the house!"

"That's not my job," she continues walking to her car.

I run into my house furious. My anger was building up from that horrible man, my mom leaving, and that dumb lady. do I ran to a window and as they drove away I flicked them all off.

I went to my room, stepping over all the glass and went to sleep. I had four more days of school left in the week...what an amazing life I have.
