Chapter 4

Kai and I have been dating a week now. Yes a week. The day after we went on our date, Kai popped the question to me. I wasn't sure what to say at first.

I was in my office with Chanyeol when Kai asked me. I was in the middle of my paper work when Kai came into my office. I had looked up at him as he came in. He came all the way up to my desk and smiled down at me. He glanced at Chanyeol before starting.

"I wanted to ask you something." Kai said. I noded.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"Would you be my girlfriend?" He asked me. I glanced at Chanyeol as my heart picked up speed. Chanyeol looked over at me with wide eyes.

"Already?" Chanyeol asked Kai. Kai nods.

"It's destiny." He replied.

"Destiny?" Chanyeol asked and glanced at me again.

"We're meant to be." Kai said. I look up at Kai and search his face. He has seemed to be sincere this whole time. Maybe I should go out with him officially. I shrugged to myself. Why not? I nod slowly.

"Yes." I replied. Kai got a big smile on his face at my reply. Chanyeol looks at me.

"Are you sure?" He asked me. I looked at Chanyeol and quickly grab his hand. I looked back at Kai.

"I'm sure." I said. Chanyeol had squeezed my hand after I said it. The reassurance that he will be there for me through everything.  The reassurance that I needed and gave me the confidence for what I was doing.

The EXO guys had practice this morning and as soon as they were finished, I let them go for the day. I start walking towards the practice room door when a hand grabs my own. I look up and see Kai walking with me. This is still different for me and will definitely take time getting used to. I smile softly. We walk to my office and I sit down at my normal spot. Kai comes and sits in the seat that Chanyeol normally sits in. Kai softly kisses my cheek before I turn and start working on my normal paper work.

A little while later, Chanyeol walks into my office. He stops when he sees Kai in his normal spot. I start smiling when I see him. He smiles softly.

"I wanted to hang out, but I will see you at home." He says. He starts out of the door. I quickly get up and rush after him. I grab his arm when I catch up to him. He turns around and searches my face.

"You alright?" He asks me. I look at him and slowly nod.

"I'm fine. Are you okay?" I ask him. He smiles.

"I just didn't want to intrude on you two." He explains. I slide my hand down his arm to take his hand.

"You can always intrude, Chanyeol. I'm going to get another chair for my office." I tell him. Chanyeol starts grinning.

"You're the sweetest person I know." He says. I smile as he leans down to kiss the top of my head.

"I'm serious." I say.

"I know you are, but for today I will see you at home." He says. I nod and wrap my arms around him.

"I love you, bestie." I say softly. Chanyeol hugs me.

"I love you too, my little princess." He replies and let's me go. "You go and have fun with your boyfriend." I look up at him and smile. He waves as he walks away. I turn around and go back into my office. Kai looks up at me and smiles.

"Sorry, I had to talk to Chanyeol." I tell him.

"It's fine. Do you want to get something to eat after this?" He asks me. I smile and nod.

"Yeah that sounds good!" I sit back at my desk and I finish my paper work.

After I finish my work, Kai takes my hand and leads me out of SM. We go to the place we went to on our first date. We order our normal food.

"Have you and Chanyeol always been close?" Kai asks. "I guess I've never noticed." I nod.

"When I moved here to become your manager, Chanyeol was the one who helped me and we instantly became friends." I explain. Kai smiles.

"But what if you had to choose between us? Would you choose him?" Kai asks me. I just think for a second.

"Yeah I would because he will always be there for me," I tell him. "Are you going to be that for me?" Kai pauses for a second.

"I plan on it." Kai replies with a smile. We get our food and that ends our conversation. I don't know why he's asking, but there should never be a reason for me to pick between them. Chanyeol will always be the one I choose though. Nobody is as important to me as my best friend.

Before we leave to head home, I order Chanyeol some food. He will appreciate me thinking about him. I grab the to go bag and head out the door with Kai. Kai grabs my empty hand and we walk silently to my apartment.

We stop outside and I lean my back on the wall to look at Kai.

"Thank you for today." I tell him with a smile. Kai smiles and rests his hand beside my head again.

"I'm happy I got to spend it with you." He says. He leans down and puts his lips on mine. I lightly grab the front of his shirt to bring him closer. I can feel his smile against my lips and I find myself smiling. He pulls away from me.

"Goodnight, Tabby." He says softly. He pecks my lips before walking away down the sidewalk.

I walk into the apartment and hold up the bag of food for Chanyeol. He looks up and instantly smiles. He takes the bag from me.

"You got me food?" He asks me. I grin.

"Of course I did!" I reply. He heads over to our table.

"Come sit with me." He says and I follow him. As I sit with him, I smile. I wouldn't change anything about this friendship.
