"I trust you"

I believed I had already dreamed up my worst nightmare but I wasn't even close to the truth. This nightmare started in a cave, like the ones in Mt. Hakobe. Luce and I were walking threw them with my hand lit ablaze for light. We abruptly heard a noise and we ran like our lives depended on it. Soon enough a monster bigger then no other showed up and I couldn't move. I was just standing there while Lucy battled the monster. She got thrown around like a rag doll and I couldn't do anything but watch. Then.. she stopped fighting. The monster shuffled away from Lucy's motionless body and just disappeared into the shadows. The ability to move returned to me and I sprinted towards her as fast as I could. When I got there she was ice cold and has no pulse. I was in shock. I had just watched the love of my life get killed and I couldn't do a thing. I heard my name faintly being called so I looked at Luce's body to see if she was the one who was calling me, but she was just laying in my arms. Then, in the blink of an eye, I woke up to see Lucy sitting on top of me with her eyes closed, shaking me and yelling my name.

"Lucy?! Why are you shaking me?" I asked worriedly grabbing her arms. Her eyes flew open and she pulled me into a strong hug.

"Finally, you woke up. I was so worried." She broke the hug to look at me and wiped something off my face.

"You were crying and screaming my name, Natsu. What happened in there?"

I started to wipe the tears from my face and answered her," I-I wasn't dreaming about anything… " She took her hands away from my face and grabbed my shoulders.

"Don't lie to me, Dragneel. You were having a nightmare. Now tell me what it was about." She said with an angry-worried look on her face. I looked at her for a minute, then looked away as I finally told her about it.

When I was finished she pulled me into a reassuring hug, and told me," I know you'd do everything in your power to protect me. Plus, I can fight too, you know! I'm not always a damsel-in-distress!"

"Mhm," I replied sarcastically, "Sure, you aren't. But I will protect you no matter what." She let go of me and got off of me to go back to sleep. I was facing her back when I decided to lay my head on her to go to sleep. I am very glad she didn't kick me out of the bed, literally.

Once I woke up, I immediately noticed Luce sitting on the side of the bed.

"Goodmorning Luce~." I said as I sat up to stretch, "How did you sleep?"

"Fine." She replied coldly, which made me flinch a little. Had I done something wrong?

Lucy looked at me dead serious and said," Are you sure you want to find out how I knew to fix your voice?" That struck me odd.

"Yeah, of course, I still wanna know. Why wouldn't I? Is something wrong, though?"

"No, nothing's wrong, just... a little nervous. That's all." She let out a sigh and got off the bed to go to the bathroom. Once she got out, she was wearing clothes that looked to big for her.

"What's with the clothes? They look like they wouldn't even fit me." Lucy just looked at me, so I guessed that I was going to find out sooner or later.

"How much do you trust me, Natsu?" She asked as she started walking back over to the bed. This was an odd thing for anyone I know to ask me. Everyone knows I trust them fully, especially Luce.

"I would follow you to the ends of EarthLand if you asked me to. Why?"

"Because…. this is going to be a very weird question that I need you to trust me on." She sat on the edge on the bed looking at me with a worried look. I shifted my body so I completely faced her.

"Ask away!" I said looking seriously at her. At my answer, she got off of the bed to get something out from under the bed.

While doing this she said," I only have these in case someone who would do anything to keep me from being in pain found out my secret. And you, Natsu," she got up, put a box on the bed and opened it so I could see what was inside," is that someone." I couldn't believe what Luce had placed in front of me.

"You want me to wear them, don't you?" I asked looking at her nervously.

She wouldn't meet my eyes again but said, "Yeah... I know how you get when you see me in pain. This is the only solution to keep you from interfering or getting hurt. So, will you wear them? I have the key and I will give it to you, once you put them on."

I made her look at me by pulling her face with my hand on her cheek and said, "I trust you, Luce. I'll put on the sealstone if it's that important to you."

She grabbed the hand that was on her cheek, smiled and told me, "Thank you, Natsu. I'm glad you trust me."

I asked her when I had to put cuffs on and she said soon, so I got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and took a real quick shower. By the time I was out, I noticed Luce had hidden some of her valuables and was sitting in front of her bed with some food and the sealstone next to her.

"What's with the food, Luce?" I asked her.

"It's for you." She looked at the clock then at me. She was so serious that it surprised me a little. I'd only seen her this serious when she was in battle or heavily annoyed

"It's time for you to put the sealstone on. But are you still positively sure you want to find out, Natsu?"

"Yes, Luce," I started while walking over to sit down in front of her, "I want to do this. I want to find out everything I can about you, good or bad." I'm pretty sure I made her blush but she looked away before I could tell. I grabbed the box with the sealstone in it and got them out. Lucy looked once more at me with a concerning look, which I understood so I nodded holding out my wrists. She sighed, picked up the metal and put it on me.

A necklace was placed around my neck while she told me," This is the only key, you can only use it once I'm finished. Got it?"

"Yeah, but done with what?" Luce looked at the clock and told me to get in her closet with the food. I did what she asked, but I was still very confused.

"Whatever you do, DO NOT come out of this closet, DO NOT make a noise, and if I attack you, Natsu, fight back with all your might.. please. Do not hold back if it comes to a battle between us, ok? Promise." I looked at her seriously.

"Luce, I'm not going to hurt you. You know that." She looked at me worriedly.

"But if you don't, I might hurt you and neither of us wants that. It would be way worse than a kick."

"F-fine I promise." I was dumbfounded by what she said that I didn't notice her go sit back to in front of her bed. She just kept staring at the clock when suddenly she closed her eyes and grabbed her head, groaning. Then, screaming and rolling on the floor.
