"Luce, how old are you?!"

I got up and starting yelling," FIGHT ME LUCY!!!!" repeatedly as I shook her. I don't know if I started irritating her or what but she grabbed me, got up and started flying into the sky.

"Luce, what are you doing?" I asked as we soared farther east up into some clouds.

"Well," she replied with a sly grin pulled across her face, "if we're going to fight we gotta be somewhere, where you don't set everything on fire and no one sees me. So, I'm taking you to a secret place few wizards know about in all of Earthland."

"Really?! We're going to fight? WAHOO!! But wait... what about my powers? More importantly, what is this place?"

"Since you are a dragon slayer, your powers will return to you until we leave. And after we do leave, your magic will be fixed, mostly anyways. You just won't be able to go into any of your modes, until a week after this at least. You'll know once you see what is in this place. I warn you tho, you will see someone you lost because this is where his kind go when they- uh... pass…. so don't think he will return here once we leave. Ok?" There is only one thing that Lucy would be so gentle with me about.

Igneel.

"W-Wait! He's t-there? We're g-going to the D-Dragon Realm?!" I gulped and looked at her.

"Yes, we are. Its the only place that I can use my powers. Oh, yeah before I forget there is something else I want to warn you about. Once we go through the portal, I will give off more magic energy than Agnologia did. I give you the choice of letting me carry you and you probably passing out from the pressure or me dropping you once we get inside and catching you before a dragon uses you as food. We have about another 30 minutes before we get there so you have until then to decide."

"Talk about no pressure. Passing out or possibly becoming dragon food.

"How do you know where the realm is, anyway? Igneel told me it was only a myth."

"Your dragons had to tell you that so you wouldn't go searching for them after they... passed. I know where it is because of my rank in it. Hehehe."

"What's your rank?" I asked completely clueless.

"You seriously haven't figured it out yet have you?"

"Figured what out?" She sighed and looked at me worriedly.

"You worry me sometimes, Natsu. You need to get your brain checked. Try to remember what I am, and try to remember Igneel told you about the ranks of dragons. Don't hurt yourself tho."

"But you never told me what you were."

"I didn't? Oh. Well, I'm an elemental dragon slayer. And stop rubbing your forgetfulness off on me!" I had a flashback from a year before Igneel disappeared, only 5 years-old.

Flashback

"Today, Natsu, Anna won't teach you grammar, writing, or training. I will teach you about the Dragon Ranks, instead." Igneel said as he laid down.

"What's that?" I asked as I sat next to his claw.

"Well, I'm about to explain. As you know I am the King of Fire Dragons, which is the highest rank within fire dragons. But the fire clan isn't the most powerful, therefore not the highest ranking. The most powerful clan and the highest-ranking is the Elemental clan. In normal clans the King is the highest-ranking, such as me, then there's the queen and the slayers. But in the elemental clan, the highest-ranking and most powerful is the slayers, then the king and queen."

"But why are slayers stronger than the dragons?"

"Because, my son, they are trained by all the clan's king dragon. I only remember having to train 1 girl, a blond, for a year and then she moved on to the ice king, but I haven't heard from the Elements in a while. I wonder what they're up to now…. " He mused looking off into the distance.

Back in the real world (After the flashback)

Flashback ended and I shocked. "L-Luce? H-How old are y-you?"

"How rude!" Luce exclaimed, looking offended. "You never ask a woman how old she is! Hmph!"

I looked at her and said, "Lucy, I'm serious. How old are you?"

She sighed, replying, "I'm older than you, Natsu. Igneel did teach me his magic for a year. I went to every clan's king and got trained for another year until I finally had learned all the elements. Your father was the 2nd to last I needed to learn. I, then with the rest of you, traveled forward in time through the Eclipse Gate. Sadly, I was the only one who kept their memory of what happened. Besides Anna, that is." She looked up into the empty sky. "I was about 7 when I got sent here. You and the rest were still little kids. So small and cute. But still fragile and weak. I protected you guys even tho you never saw me, I was there." She looked in front of us and her eyes widened. "Well, we're here. What's your decision? Passing out or dropping down?"

"Passing out." I said without hesitation.

"Okay, then. Hold on 'cause here we go!" I didn't want to be away from Luce for a second. To imagine that Lucy was able to protect 5 kids who traveled all around Fiore to find their dragons. I held on tight as she sped up into a portal that had appeared.
