BETHANY'S POV:
Ringgg! I woke up to the sound of my phone going off. I rolled over and grabbed my phone off the bedside table.
It was 10:57am on a Wednesday morning in California. I had 8 messages. Most of them were from Lux.
Lux: Sorry 4 leaving u there.
Lux: The guy was cute!
Lux: How did u get home?
Lux: r u mad?
Lux: r u dead?
Lux: hello? 😟
Ha ha maybe I should text her back before she calls the police!
Bethany: I'm ok, I got a ride from a guy named Connor.
I checked my other messages. They were from Connor.
Connor: hey it's Connor
Connor: so about that date, I know the best place. is tonight ok?
OMG yessss!!!! I couldn't stop smiling! I haven't had a date in a while! My mom called out from downstairs.
"Bethany!!! breakfast is ready!"
"Ok, I'll be down in a sec!" I yelled back.
"Ok!" she called out.
Oh no what my parent? I wanted to say yes to Connor but I haven't spent anytime with my parent. I think I'll have to ask them, maybe I'll spend the day with them and then go out with Connor at night. I quickly texted Connor.
Bethany: tonight is great, what time should I be ready?
I sent it. Then I put my slippers on and my housecoat, and walked downstairs. The sent of pancakes and bacon filled the house. My mom had already set the table and my dad was already siting down reading the newspaper.
"Good morning Bethany" my mom said as I sat down.
"YAWNNN! Morning mom, morning dad." I yawned.
"Good morning Bethany." my dad said still staring at his newspaper.
"What time did you get home last night?" my mom asked finally siting down.
"Umm 1:00, I think." I said with my face full of pancakes.
"Cool and Lux didn't leave you there." My mom replied.
"Oh no she did..." I said.
"Oh umm who-" my mom started to say.
"Connor." I replied.
"Who's that?" my mom said.
"Umm a guy I met at the party, well I talked to him before but that's a long story and we are going on a date tonight...if that's okay?" I said picking up a piece of bacon.
My mom and dad looked at each other, then looked at me.
Then my dad said "Listen Beth, you don't really know Clayton-"
"Connor" I corrected him.
"- right! but you don't know him."
" You just met him last night, I well we don't think you should." my mom finished.
I wanted to scream at them but I didn't want them to be mad at me specially if we are going to spend the day together. Besides I'm still going to night but I'm not telling them that.
"Oh okay, so we should do something today." I changed the subject.
"Yeah we were think we should go to the beach.... you can bring Lux if you want." My mom said to me.
"Yeah I'll go call her." I said standing up and putting my dishes in the sink and walking upstairs.
I pulled out my phone.
"Hello!"
"Hi Connor!"
"Oh hey Bethany! what's up"
"Umm my mom and dad don't think we should go out."
"Oh sorry"
"Oh no we can still go out, just without my parents knowing"
"Okay great, do you have a plan?"
"Yes I do"
I told him the plan then hung up and called Lux.
She's coming so I got ready for the beach.
I walked into my closet and picked out my outfit. I picked out a my fav bathing suit, a blue and white sundress, some sandals and a tan hat.
I put on a little bit of make up and soon after my mom yelled out...
"Bethany! let's go now!"
"Coming!" I grabbed my beach bag, my phone and my heart sunglasses and went downstairs.
