Chapter 6

Shadepaw's P.O.V

With that, Hawkpaw ran out of the camp. "Get him." Ivystar ordered.

I raced out with Stormheart, Lionstorm, Tigerblaze, and Flamespirit at my tail. We followed him to just outside of the DawnClan camp, where I was able to tackle him.

"What is going on here?" Russetcloud asked. I looked up to find him with Alderfoot and Sunfall. He attacked Lionstorm. While Alderfoot took on Tigerblaze, and Sunfall jumped on Flamespirit.

"Shadepaw, get Lightningstar." Flamespirit yelled. I ran into the DawnClan camp, where Lightningstar jumped up.

"Is another attack accursed?" He asked. 

"Kind of. We figured out that some of your warriors, and ours are working for them. They attacked us while we were chasing Hawkpaw." I answered.

He looked at me weird. 

"Long story. We need help." Just then Ripplewing burst into the camp.

"She's lying. You now apprentices. They always get into trouble." He lied.

"No. I'm not. He's one of them." Lightningstar turned away. "Ravenhope! Help!" I yelled as he started dragging me away by my scruff.

Ravenhope jumped out of the apprentices den with a white apprentice behind her. 

"Some cat, help!" I yelled again as he dragged me out of camp. I stopped yelling, because I knew that they wouldn't trust me. 

Then, Ravenhope burst through the camp entrance with the white she-cat at her tail. "Let. Her. Go." She growled.

"No. She needs to go back to camp to be taught a lesson." Ripplewing yowled through my scruff.

"Ow. Ravenhope, go help Flamespirit. She needs it more. She's near your camp." I screeched. 

Ravenhope nodded and whispered something to the apprentice. She ran away, while the apprentice started stalking us.

As she crept closer, I started clawing at Ripplewing. He bit my scruff, and stepped on my tail. The apprentice jumped on his back, and caused him to let go of me. I bit down on his paw, and he let out a yowl.

"You two will regret this." Ripplewing sighed as he threw the she-cat away, and picked me up again. I clawed him over, and over again so that the she-cat could catch up. 

By then, Lightningstar had sent out a hunting patrol. They saw him throw the apprentice and came over to see what was happening.

"Ripplewing, are you ok? Do you need help?" The DawnClan deputy, Riverflight asked.

"Yes. That apprentice keeps on pouncing on my back. Could you send her away?"

"No. She is my kit. If she senses that something is off, something is off. DawnClan, attack." 

Ripplewing started running as fast as he could with me in his mouth, but I started nipping his chest. "Let me go." I snarled.

"No. So shut your mussel." He ordered. He ran into the hardest part of our territory, and we soon lost the DawnClan warriors.

"Help! Help me!"  I yowled. Ripplewing started climbing a tree, and didn't stop until we were high enough off the ground, that I couldn't climb back down. He set me down, and crawled back down the tree.

"Good luck, up there." He chuckled as he ran off again.

"Help! I'm stuck! Some cat help me!" I started yowling again. From far away, I could see the white apprentice leading the patrol towards my tree. I yowled again, so that she would know which one I was in.

When the DawnClan patrol reached me, Ripplewing was long gone. "That fox-hearted cat." Stormheart muttered as he brought me down.

"Now, tell me your name." He said when we reached the ground again.

"I'm Shadepaw. Thank you for helping me." I answered.

"I'm Willowpaw." The white she-cat meowed.

"You're the cat that Ivystar said I would be meeting at the next gathering." I gasped.

"Well, here I am."

"We need to go help my Clan mates that are being attacked." I realized.

"Who?" Stormheart asked.

"Flamespirit, Lionstorm, Tigerblaze, and Ravenhope." 

"Ok. We'll  go help them. Follow us." I ran beside Willowpaw as we closed in on the fighting warriors.

I leaped at the cat that was holding Flamespirit down. He rolled off, and we soon beat the four betrayers and circled them.

"What are we going to do with them?" Ravenhope asked.

"That is up to Lightningstar, and Ivystar." Stormheart replied.
