Sorry I haven't updated in ages. I had a lot of school work. We came back from holidays and received 5 assignments. Here's a 1000 word chapter as compensation.

Harry POV

"Hazel" I began "I don't think I ever properly thanked you for saving Sirius, I wanted to say how happy I was that he didn't... go through that veil"

"That's ok" she replied" I hope you guys get to spend more time together"

Hermione asked her how her holidays had been and she quickly got absorbed into a conversation.

I was talking to Percy when a small girl came to the door. She knocked timidly then entered.

"I'm supposed to give these to Harry and Neville, they're from Professor Slughorn, he also said two of the Americans could come and introduce themselves to him and tell him about their lives" she said quickly before handing the letters to the group and leaving.

"Who's Professor Slughorn?" Neville asked.

"He's the new Professor" Harry replied "I met him on the holidays. What does your note say Neville? Mine says he wants me to come to lunch."

"Mine says that too" Neville confirmed.

"He also said two of us could go" Annabeth said "perhaps Percy and I"

Thalia and Nico were happy with that, they didn't want to spend any more time with teachers than they had to. Hazel was happy to let us go.

The four students pushed through the people crowding the hallways. They reached Slughorn's compartment and knocked. They heard someone inside say come in. They opened the door and looked around. They weren't the only students in the room. Blaise Zambini, Cormac McLaggen and Marcus Belby sat around the table. To Harry's surprise Ginny sat awkwardly next to Slughorn. Slughorn gestured for them to sit down. Slughorn went around the group, interviewing each of them. All the other students except Ginny seemed to have rich or successful relatives. We spent an awkward ten minutes talking about Neville's past. Slughorn then moved onto me. He was clearly interested in my past. He was rambling on about how I must have special powers when Blaise fake coughed, clearly implying that he didn't believe in that.

"Oh yes Blaise, because your so talented... at posing" said Ginny angrily from behind Slughorn.

"Now Blaise, I dont think you should be getting on Miss Weasley's wrong side. I saw her do quite an impressive bat-bogey hex in the corridor, I wouldn't cross her" Slughorn said genially

He continued talking to Harry for a while before turning to Percy and Annabeth.

"So you came from America to do an exchange, why did you come to Hogwarts?" Slughorn asked

"We heard it was a great magic school and our Headmistress (Hecate) agreed to contact Dumbledore" Annabeth replied "We came last year and really enjoyed it, so we decided to come back for another year."

"Where did you go to school in America?"Slughorn asked.

"We went to a small school, CHB, we did some more specialised magic than you do here. We also had a focus on Ancient Greece" Annabeth answered.

"How interesting, what sports did you play?"

"We did a lot of capture the flag" Percy piped up "everyone gets really into it"

Slughorn turned back to Harry and started asking him about the fabled prophecy and the rumoured battle in the Ministry.

"We never heard a prophecy" Neville said, before going pink in the cheeks.

"That's right" Ginny affirmed "the Prophet is just making things up as usual"

"The prophet makes a lot of things up" Annabeth said.

"So you were all there" he said, looking at Ginny, Neville, Percy and Annabeth with interest.

Slughorn went off on a tangent about previous students for the next hour. We all sat there awkwardly. Percy fiddled with his pen/sword.

Eventually Slughorn realised it was dark and dismissed us.

Annabeth POV

As we left Harry pulled the invisibility cloak over his head. I herd him following Zambini toward Draco's compartment. I realised that he was trying to listen to Draco and pulled my cap on before following him.

When we reached the compartment Zambini entered and tried to close the door. Harry had clearly jammed his foot into the gap so it didn't close. He snuck in while the Slytherins were confused and climbed onto the luggage rack. The invisibility cloak flapped as he climbed up and his shoe became visible for a split second. I saw Draco's eyes flash toward the luggage rack before he settled back into his seat. The Slytherins spent the next few minutes discussing Slughorn's meeting then moved onto the topic Harry was listening for. Draco was bragging about how he might not come back next year. He was clearly exaggerating his importance, but I sensed there was some truth in his story. He was blathering on about how unimportant exams were and how he didn't need OWLs or NEWTs. I believed that Harry had been right, Draco was up to something, whether he was a Death Eater or not was still in question.

The train pulled up at the station and the students began to disembark. I flattened myself against a wall, figuring I had better wait for Harry. When a nearby compartment emptied I ducked inside then watched the entrance the the Slytherin's compartment. I saw all of them come out except Draco and Harry. Everyone else had left the train so I crept up to the door.

Draco quickly shut the blinds so I had to look through a narrow gap. I saw him curse Harry and watch his fall to the floor. He stomped on Harry's nose angrily, clearly as revenge for something. He covered Harry with his invisibility cloak before leaving the compartment, a gleeful smile on his face.

I entered the compartment and pulled the cloak off Harry. His nose was in an awful shape. I unfroze him and fixed it as best I could. As I pulled him up I felt the train begin to move beneath us. We ran to the carriage door and leapt off. We landed and went back toward the school. The carriages were still leaving so we hopped on the last one. I tried to get some of the blood off Harry's face as we went to toward the castle.
