Sorry it's been so long. This chapter is quite short but I needed to update and it's been forever. I'm sorry about any errors, I put this chapter up in a rush because I needed to post an update.

Percy POV
We made our way down to the potions room slowly. On the way we met up with a kid called Ernie, who talked with Harry about DADA. When we entered the classroom it was, most unusually, already filled with vapours. The smoke was emitting from the four cauldrons lined up across the front. Harry and Ron had to go collect books from the back of the classroom. We heard a brief scuffle, but ignored it.
"Now, I have prepared some NEWT level potions, for you to get a look at. You ought to have heard of them, even if you can't make them yet," Slughorn said, addressing the class "can anyone tell me what this one is?"
He pointed to a cauldron filled with a clear liquid. Hermione and Annabeth's hands shot up like bullets. Slughorn pointed at Hermione.
"Veritaserum, it's a colourless and odourless potion that forces the drinker to tell the truth" she said rapidly.
"Very good," Slughorn replied, "and this one?"
"Polyjuice potion" answered Annabeth "it allows the drinker to change into another person."
"And this one?"
"Amortentia" said Hermione "it's the most powerful love potion in the world."
"Quite right, good job. What's your name, my dear?"
"Hermione Granger, sir."
"Could you possibly be related to Hector Dagworth-Granger, who founded the Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers."
"No, I don't think so, sir, I'm muggle born, you see"
Malfoy whisper something to Nott, who was sitting next to him. Slughorn ignored them and continued addressing Hermione.
"Harry told me about you, he said you were the best in the year. It seems he wasn't lying, you and Miss Chase. Take thirty points for Gryffindor"
Malfoy looked like he'd been punched. Hermione was asking Harry if he'd really said that to Slughorn.
"Of course," Slughorn explained, "amortentia does not create love, for love cannot be manufactured or created, it produces a powerful obsession or infatuation, therefore, it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room." He nodded to the students, "now we begin working."
"But, sir" Ernie said "You haven't told us what that one is yet."
"Oh, that one, that one, ladies and gentlemen, is a little potion called Felix Felicis. Miss Chase, can you tell me what it does?"
"It makes you lucky" Annabeth said.
Malfoy sat up quickly, suddenly interested.
"Ten points to Gryffindor. Yes, a funny little potion, desperately tricky to make, and disastrous should it go wrong. However, if brewed correctly, as this has been, the drinker will find that all their endeavours suceeed..."
"Why don't people take it all the time?" I asked.
"When taken in excess it causes giddiness, over confidence, and recklessness. Too much of a good thing, toxic in large quantities. But when taken sparingly, and very occasionally..."
This potion was sounding pretty good to me. Battling monsters and gods would be easier with luck on your side. I wondered what Tyche (the Greek goddess of luck) thought of a potion to do her job.
"Have you ever taken it, sir," asked Michael Corner.
"Yes, once when I was twenty-four and once when I was fifty-seven. Two tablespoons with breakfast. Two perfect days."
He gazed dreamily into the distance.
"And that is what I'll be offering as a prize for the best potion this lesson. A small vial, with twelve hours worth of potion in it. Remember, Felix Felicis is banned in any organised competition, sport, exams, or elections. The winner is to take it on an ordinary day, and watch that day become extraordinary."
"Now turn to page ten of your book and brew the Draught of Living Death. I do not expect any perfect potions, but the best will win little Felix here."
