Chapter 7
Tris' POV
I stared at him waiting for him to ask me something. He stared back just as intensely, but seemed to be more caught up in thought. "Are you gonna ask me something?" Luke blinked back a second later, slowly coming out of his daze. "Yeah. Sorry." He leaned forward and then back again. I gave him a questioning look signalling that I was becoming a bit impatient.
"Have you had your first kiss? Never mind. Cross that question out. When did you have your first kiss?" Luke looked curious and hopeful, as if hoping it was when he kissed me. "Um... I think when I was 11? Yeah 11. But I comes with this whole twisted up shit story." As I spoke he began to look angry. He squeezed my hand a bit too tightly for my liking. It felt as if he was trying to remind me that he was still holding onto me. He nodded signalling me to tell the story.
"Well, it was a few days, maybe a few weeks before my friend was due to move. At the time, he lived in the apartment above mine, one floor up. We would always walk up the stairs together coming home from school instead of taking the elevator, just so that we could spent some extra time together. You know, to hang out since we never did at school. At times we would just sit there and talk, but usually, we would jump down the levels of stairs and just hang there for a while, always returning home like 20 minutes late.
"Anyways, I was very close to my friends at the time. People like him and Kenzie. On the last day of school just more than 2 months before that, my friends and I started to give each other pecks on the cheek. Just like how you would do with family that you felt uncomfortable with. But this was like just as friends. A bit more comfortably then with those family members. We all know who I'm talking about.
"So, one thing led to another, and I was about to piss myself because let me tell you, I did not get the memo to go to the washroom at last break. It was an accident really. We both just happened to try to kiss each other's cheek at the same time and I just... Kissed her. Well. I suppose he kissed me t-" I was cut short. "Her?" Luke asked me, his anger seemed to have completely disappeared. Then he made the situation worse by laughing.
"Don't laugh at me I was 11 and it was an accident!" I screeched. "Yeah, I only said him so it didn't seem more weird than it needs to be." I smiled. Luke smiled, stood up resulting in me awkwardly standing up as well, and hugged me. "This is kinda weird." I said though this chest muffled my words a bit. He was very warm (is that odd to say?). "So... Are you a virgin?" Well that ruined it.
"You just ruined the moment dude. But yep. I. Am. A. Virgin. Just kidding! Luke, I am your father." Luke tensed for a second, "Yeah. Yeah I am a virgin. You? Never mind. I donut (you get it) want to waste my question." And then seemed to relax.
I grabbed Luke's hand and brought him over to the couch, not wanting to feel the awkwardness of having a table in between us. "So. What should I ask you? Is there anything worth asking?" He just shrugged and brought me into his lap, pulling me close to his chest, but I was too distracted by the question to care. "Instead of trying to form some sort of subtle way to ask the question without sounding to crazy or weird, why don't I answer the question that you have been trying to form. Yes."
My eyes widened and I turned my head to face him, "You're vegan?" "What? No, I am what you think I am." I shrugged and turned back. "I think you're vegan." I mumbled. Luke just sighed obnoxiously. "I'm not vegan."
"Well, what do I think you are?" I asked him hoping he would get the answer wrong and not thing I'm going around making assumptions about people being werewolves and vegan. "A werewolf. A shifter. I am one." I felt myself tense. "Sooo, I'm not crazy." "No." "And you're not vegan." "Can you get over the whole vegan thing? I'm not vegan." He said laughing.
"Explain. Like everything, like you, like everything." I said suddenly curious. I feel as if I'm supposed to be afraid, yet I'm not.
"Where should I start? I'm a werewolf. Self explanatory. I suppose I could go into more detail. The full moon does not make me go crazy or whatever shits been told. It only makes me stronger. I'm like the Twilight werewolves. I have a pack of only a few people here, but I have pack members all over Canada. {In case you didn't know this takes place in Toronto, Canada.} I am the alpha of the pack. Werewolves or shifters, have mates/imprints. They are technically soulmates never to leave your side. That's were you come in. You are m-"
"WHAAAAAAAAT? What kinda Harry Potter shit's {I mean no offence to any Harry Potter fans, I too read the series.} goin' on here?" Luke sighed becoming frustrated. "There isn't any 'Harry Potter shit' as you say, going on."
"Is there any Twilight stuff going on?" I felt a deep rumble in the chest behind me. At first it was soundless, but then the noise came. At first I could barely here it, but then the growl turned so loud I'm sure the neighbours could here it. I felt Luke put his arms over my waist, and tighten the hold. "Wait what's going on? Do I need like a pamphlet for this kind of stuff or something, because I'm not getting it."
The growling just continued, and I realized how sore my back was from being so tense, so I tried so move forward a bit, and managed to get into a comfortable enough position, leaned back, and rested my head against Luke's shoulder. Immediately his growling stopped, and I just had to roll my eyes. "Seriously though, like can I get a pamphlet or something?"
A/N Sorry it's bad, I know, I don't like it either. Thank you if you read this chapter even thought you may not read this note. If you continue to read this fanfic... Thank you, I love you.
