There's been a human murdering everybody in the underground! I heard that Dr. Alphys was evacuating everyone left, but I don't wanna go. I'll be fine on my own, right? Nekos are strong.
I'm walking through the underground and keep going, checking to see if anyone's left. I end up in judgment hall, and I see Sans the Skeleton standing there, supposedly waiting for someone. I stand behind a pillar to hide.
A few minutes later, the human enters. They walk up to Sans with a real knife in hand, getting ready to strike. "Huh, whaddya know?" Sans says quietly. The human tilts their head in confusion. "What're you talking about?"
Sans grins. "Ya didn't meet the quota, kid. You missed one person." The human's jaw drops. "WHAT? How? I killed 40?" Sans chuckles. "The quota was 41 this time. It's too late now, why don't cha reset?"
The human throws their knife on the ground. I'm confused. What's a reset? "I'M DONE WITH THIS STUPID GAME! I'M NEVER COMING BACK!" They then disappear.
I step out from behind the pillar. Sans grins and chuckles. "Heh, they missed you, kiddo. I wasn't looking forward to that bad time, anyways." I smile, but tilt my head. "What's a reset?" I ask curiously.
He then explains "Just what it sounds like. The creature with the most determination in the underground has the ability to reset, to go back on any mistakes they've made. I'm the only monster who can remember them, though."
My ears perk up at this. "Huh, that's weird. Who can reset now?" Sans has a look on his face I can't describe. "Say, you're half human, huh kiddo?" I nod. "And?" I say.
Sans then tells me "Try to reset." My eyes widen and my tail twitches. "What? How?" He replies "Monsters can't have determination, but you're half monster, so you can. Now try."
I close my eyes and two buttons materialize in front of me. "It says 'RESET,' or 'CONTINUE,'" I tell the skeleton. He instructs "Press the reset button." I do as he says, and everything around me disappears.
I'm back in my house. I go outside and see a bunch of people walking around with their families, and the spider bakery has a tiny bit of business, like usual.
Did everything really reset? I don't know. I run to Snowdin and knock on the skelebros's door. Sans opens it and gives me a hug when he sees it's me. "Thank you," he whispers, making my face flush F/C.
He invites me in, and we talk about resets. He teaches me about timelines and the how I shouldn't just reset to fix a tiny mistake.
"Thanks, Sans." He grins. "Anytime, kiddo. Can I see your phone?" I hand him it and he adds a new contact. I giggle at the name. "Sans the Skelepun?" I ask through giggles. His face turns lightly blue and he nods. "I'm a punny guy."
•Time Skip•
Sans and I have been friends for a few years now, and a human hasn't fallen ever since I reset. I've met some of his friends as well, and my life is a lot livelier now than before.
I remember that Undyne's having a Christmas Party today. I check my watch. 8:30. Gotta be there by 10. I put on my green hoodie and red shorts along with some red and green sneakers. I then grab the chocolate pie I made yesterday to bring.
Before I leave, I remember that we're doing a gift exchange where we give out crushes a gift. I, as much as I attempt to deny it, like Sans, so I got him a magic ketchup bottle with a never ending supply of ketchup in it. He better like it, that was hard to make!
Then I set off to go to Undyne's house. I knock and she opens the door. She noogies me and says "HEY THERE, PUNK! GLAD YOU COULD MAKE IT!" I smile and walk in, putting the pie down.
Mettaton, Alphys, and Asgore are already there, so we're just waiting on the skelebros. Mettaton struts over to me. "Hello, gorgeous~ how do you like my new body? It's still a work in progress!" I examine it. "Pretty good," I respond. Look at those legs!
He flashes a charming smile at me. "Are you going to confess to Sans today?" He asks. I blush and look away. I mutter "Kinda have to, thanks Undyne." Undyne grins cheekily in my direction. I chuckle.
I hear a knock at the door, and Undyne runs to get it. I feel my palms getting sweaty. Sure enough, it's the skeleton brothers. Papyrus runs in and hugs everyone, yelling "MERRY CHRISTMAS!"
Sans walks in with a light blush on his face and sits next to me. "Hey, kid," he says. "Hi," I say. I notice Sans and Papyrus brought spaghetti and ketchup. Can't believe Sans was willing to give up that much of his supply.
Undyne then poses. "GIFT EXCHANGE TIME!" She shouts. My face turns red and I run away and hide behind her piano. Asgore walks over to me. "Are you okay, my child?" I shake my head. "I don't wanna do this," I say.
He pats my back comfortingly. "It's alright, but do you really want your gift to go to waste? How would you use that ketchup?" Darn it, Asgore ships it. I sigh and slowly crawl out from behind the piano. He ruffles my hair, avoiding my ears. "Good luck," he whispers.
I walk over to Sans, my legs feeling like jelly. I throw the ketchup at him and run away. He sees me running and blushes. I sit outside of Undyne's house with my legs curled up to my chest and my hood over my head.
Sans walks out and sits besides me. He blushes and hands me a shiny silver heart shaped locket. I open it and see a cute, dorky picture we took together a while back. The other side of the heart says "To my one and bonely."
I giggle and feel my face turn redder than ever, and his face is almost completely blue. I give him a hug. He hugs back. No words are needed for this moment.
We then hear a cough coming from above, and when we look up, there's a mistletoe held by Papyrus. Sans gives him a death glare, but I quickly peck Sans's teeth. I laugh at his shocked expression and give him another hug.
Sans is still in shock, but he soon hugs back. "I love you," I whisper to him. He chuckles quietly and says "I love you too."
And then I hear a camera click and Undyne running away. "Oh no you don't!" I yell, dragging Sans with me and running after her.
