In the middle of that forest, we heard something that utterly shocked us.
Kid 3: "We might get to meet King Arthur!"
Unable to believe our ears, we turned our attention to the frolicking children who had spoken them.
Ethan: "This could be our chance."
Ray: "We might find him before we even start looking!"
Estel nodded in apparent assent. I also agreed, so I approached the children.
Sara: "Im sorry to interrupt you, but did you say that King Arthur might be coming here?"
Kid 1: "Next week, our village is celebrating Pentecost."
Kid 2: "There's going to be a ball!"
If they're going to hold a ball, it must be a pretty large festival.
Sara: "Could you show us where your village is?"
Kid 1: "Sure! But first we have to gather firewood."
Ethan: "Leave that to us! We'll help you!"
Ray: "What do you mean 'we'? Leave me out of this."
Kid 2: "Yay! Thank you!"
Ray sighed deeply, with a sullen look on his face.
Ray: "Sigh... Fine, do as you like."
The village the children took us to was a large, prosperous farming village, under the rule of the country of Logres. In order to effectively manage the wide tracts of land, the individual houses were also large.
Estel: "Things are really busy, with Pentecost so near."
Sara: "Pentecost is a feast that celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, right? We celebrate it every year in Theodore."
Thinking of the time when my father was alive brought painful feelings.
Ethan: "I hear music."
Estel: "They're probably practicing. They'll play all during the three days of Pentecost."
Sara: "I see! They'll dance to this music!"
Estel: "Huh?"
Sara: "What!? The children said there would be a ball."
Ethan: "Haha...!"
He's laughing at me!
Ethan: "Oh, I get it! The words do sound the same!"
Sara: "Wh...what!? Let me in on the joke!"
Ethan: "Sara, they didnt say 'ball', they said 'brawl'."
Although he said this with a smile, I felt myself stiffen. Meanwhile, Ray mocked me with cold eyes.
