A shinny, yellow Lamborghini Aventador entered hanger three. The engine roared with ferocity. It stopped. The engine was cut off and a handsome man hopped out. His icy blue eyes shone dangerously. 'What a warm welcome...' he muttered. He stopped,— eyeing me with his hawk-looking eyes. 'Do you talk or whatever? I didn't know the allowed toddlers to join the army. Gosh, they must be very desperate, huh?' He mocked. My eyes drilled into his. 'Are you done?' I asked, my voice laced with forced calmness. He rolled his eyes. 'What's your name?'
'Can you read my name tag? Didn't know they allowed alphabetics to join the army.' Sunstreaker blinked. 'Did you just insult me?' His eyes narrowed. 'I surely did and I will donor again if you open your mouth again, now let's move. I don't have all day. My training starts in 30 minutes. You happened to be almost ten minutes late so we have to do the tour in 20 minutes.' I turned around. 'Something wrong with your legs?' I stopped for a second as I noticed he didn't follow. He walked up to me. 'Let me make something very clear... if you insult me or try anything, I will make your life hell. This toddler in front of you, is very close with Optimus and Prowl. I will make sure you get locked up in the darkest brig I can find and leave you there until you start rusting.' I jabbed my finger in the center of his chest.
'Of you think you're joining a kindergarten, you're wrong. I don't do tea time and if you can't keep up, that will be your problem. Oh... and before I forget to mention, I make the patrol schedules, so you better keep me on your hood side or I'll make sure you drive four patrols a day. Are we clear now?' Sunstreaker nodded. 'Good, then I suggest you start walking.' I started walking again.
There was a total silence until we reached the main hanger. 'This is the main hanger. Usually very busy and noisy. It's the central point of the entire base. All the wings come together here.'
He eyed scanned the hanger. He passed me. 'Hey, Dino...' the spy completely ignored him and passed. He turned. 'Ironhide—' The black car passed him. I bit my lip. There was not even a greeting. Sunstreaker snorted. 'It's fine... they're busy.' He waved his hand and gestured to move on. I heard him sigh in disappointment behind me. 'You're popular...' I muttered. 'It's complicated. I've been the popular one... but at least people accepted me. Or... I thought they did.' I frowned. He seemed sincerely confused about why his team didn't greet him. I halted and turned. 'Is Prime around here somewhere? I mean... if he's not not busy.' I scanned the hanger. 'He's in a meeting right now.'
'Right... I get it. Everyone is busy. I had only hoped to get a little bit of attention. I haven't seen them for thousand of years.'
'I think I know someone who will be happy to see you...' I trailed off. 'I doubt it...' he grumbled. 'Who...?' He asked he followed me. 'A good friend...' I said, pushing open some doors. 'Why would 'your' friend be happy to see me if my own team doesn't even greet me?' He sulked. 'I know everything that is going on at this base, you know why?''No.'
'Because I am good. The only thing I don't understand is the relationship you have with your team. I don't even want to know, it's none of my business and we don't work together as much as you think we would. There's only one thing I do know...' I typed the code of the last door. 'Which is...?' He asked, crossing his arms. 'Come and see for yourself.' I held the door for him open. He passed with hesitation. 'The basement? What is this? Are you trying to prank me or something?' He asked. I gave him a push. 'Stop talking and walk.'
He rolled his eyes. 'The brig? What are we doing here?' I pointed at the second cell. 'Yo, Sideswipe... got someone for you.' I heard his systems reboot. 'Someone with an attitude and a bad day. Maybe you can cheer him up,' I added. His holoform fizzled in. 'I honestly didn't think you would come to see me after what I did,' he grinned. 'Oh, but I warned you. I am going to make your life hell. I am not here for you, he is! But you didn't deserve this at all. Let's make that very clear,' I snapped. I pointed behind me. 'SUNNY! SUNNY!' He passed me.
'Sideswipe?! Where have you been!' They grasped each other's hand through the bars. At least there's someone happy to see him. 'I'll leave you two alone.' I turned around. They hadn't even heard me. I reported to Prowl instead. 'Done with the tour?'
'No, sir.'
Prowl raised a brow. 'Did Sunstreaker miss behave?'
'No, sir.'
'Then what are you here?'
'I reunited Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. I'd like to have permission to release him. It's been two weeks. I don't want to ruin their moment. I would also like to ask to keep this question to yourself. My father thinks I should be hard on him, but I don't want to ruin this for them.''He pranked you, so if you think he learned his lesson...'
'Great, I'll go tell him.'
I turned around. 'Don't forget to smile, Skye.' I looked over my shoulder. 'I do smile.' He gave me a look. 'Really, I smile.' He hummed. 'It's your call, Banes.' I gave a nod and opened the door, heading back towards the brig. The two brothers were talking excitedly. 'You're free to go, Sideswipe.' I typed the code. 'Sweet. Already wondered when you would forgive me.' I rolled my eyes and turned around. 'You're an ice princess, aren't you?' I turned. 'Excuse me?'
'You know what you want, your driven and as cold as a psycho.'
'I am not a psycho. I split my emotions and work. You will never see me cry, now I'd you excuse me... I have a training.' I threw him the key of his room. 'Room G 1.089, your brother will show you around. Don't come to me, trying to sweet talk me. I make the schedules I make them... keep me on your hood side or you end up like your brother.'
I turned around. 'You have balls, Skye. To talk to me like that. I like you.' I turned around. 'We aren't friends, so don't call me by my first name.' Sideswipe nudged him. Sunstreaker approached me. 'I like bossy females, as long as they don't get too dominant. Can't wait to see what you do to your roomies,' he whispered near my ear. 'Congratulations, Sunstreaker... you can drive every night patrol for the rest of the month and it starts tonight. I hope you're not tired because I will pick the longest route there is.' We locked eyes just a few seconds before I walked off.
