I was left with getting the cold
shoulder from Luke for the entire
rest of the week.
It hurt knowing that
me asking a simple question
had such a negative effect
and I was still left not knowing why.
I was surprised on Saturday evening,
four days since he had spoken to me,
when he knocked on my
front door at eleven pm,
with tear stained cheeks
and swollen, bloodshot eyes.
I led him inside, up to my bedroom,
without saying any words,
Once we were both sitting
on my bed a thick tension
filled the air when neither of us spoke.
And then,
Luke confessed.
