He took me to an amusement park.

The beginning of the trip

was filled with joyous laughter

from both of us, enjoying our

time on rides, alone with each other.

Throughout the time Luke had a

a firm grasp on my hand, and my

stomach was erupting

with manic butterflies.

Various rides and games were

invaded by us, including the ball

toss, carousel, and bumper cars; I

felt like I was in a dream with Luke,

and only Luke, no one else mattered.

At the top of the Ferris wheel,

I kissed Luke, and he did not

run away that time.

It was cliche, but that's what we were.

Two boys who kept running back

to each other, unable to last long

without the other.

We were opposite ends of magnets,

our connection was inseparable.

Or so I thought.
