Jinsoul pushes her house key into the lock and quickly twisted it, pushing the door open with her shoulder. She walked in and set her keys on the table and her bag by the door after shutting the door behind her.
She was fully aware her parents would be gone for awhile so it's not like it mattered where she put her stuff, and her brother definitely didn't care.
Jinsoul had an older brother who had basically raised her. Her parents were never home but he was. He's five years older than her so he was basically out of high school when her parents became busy.
When he enrolled in university he made sure to only have morning classes so he could be home for her.
She had always admired him for that to be completely honest.
"How was school today, sis?" She heard a familiar voice ask from the couch
"Good. I got another note from that girl." She responded, sitting down next to him to see him watching a K-Drama on the tv.
She had told her brother everything, he was always there to talk. She even told him about how she's been thinking of her sexuality. She was pretty sure her parents are homophobic but her brother was always laid back.
"Oh?" Was all he said as he paused his show, preparing to talk.
"Yeah, I haven't read it though." She said with a shrug
"Well, let's hear it then!" He exclaimed as he turned to face her, criss cross applesauce
"Alright..." she mumbled as she pulled it out of her pocket.
They read the note together and when they finished her brother practically started to fangirl.
"She wants you to be happy! Isn't that cute?" He exclaimed as she let out a small laugh
"I'm gonna see if Choerry can come over, if that's okay?" She asked and smiled sweetly
"Fine, only cause Choerry is nice and I love to see your dimples." He said with a smile as he got up, probably to make dinner
~~~"Girls! Dinner!" Kim Lip's mother shouted from upstairs and the girls instantly jumped up.
"Heck yeah! Food!" Chuu giggles as she bolted upstairs, a smiling Kim Lip following behind.
Kim Lip stepped into the light of the level above the basement and saw Chuu, her sister (Song-Yi), and her parents all seated around the table.
She sat down next to the foldable chair Chuu was seated on. On the other side of Chuu sat her older sister, Song-Yi.
Her relationship with Song-Yi had always been kind of odd. They weren't exactly close but at the same time Song-Yi was the only one in Kim Lip's family to know that she was gay.
They didn't hang out often but when they did it was like a party. One time Jungeun had let it slip that she had a crush and Song-Yi, being a typical sister, insisted she tell. Since then they'd hung out more but they weren't super close.
"So, Chuu, since Jungeun never talks about school, how was your day?" Kim Lip's mom said with a smile, clearly trying to mess around with her daughter.
"Oh, it was great!" Chuu exclaimed and began rambling on as everyone ate and Kim Lip zones out when she heard Chuu's upbeat voice say something about Jinsoul
"-then of course Lip left class to leave the daily note for Jinsoul-" Chuu said, continuing to rant.
Kim Lip practically choked and her eyes went wide, she made immediate eye contact with Song-Yi who's eyes were also wide.
"Um, Chuu sweetie, who's Jinsoul?" Kim Lip's father questioned in a sweet tone
Chuu's eyes went wide as she seemed to realize her mistake. She opened her mouth only for nothing to come out.
"Oh, she's just a friend of Jungeun's!" SoNg-Yi replies smoothly, sounding very lost
"Why have you never spoken of her?" Kim Lip's mother asked the youngest of her daughters
"Um- can I be excused?" Kim Lip said hurriedly
"Of course, darling" her father said and she immediately rushed off to the bathroom and called Song-Yi.
In the other room Song-Yi asked to be excused and went to her bedroom to answer the call.
"Alright so this is what we're gonna say. I know Chuu isn't gonna talk about it until I get back, she's not that dumb. At least I hope, hold on." Kim Lip said before hanging up and texting Chuu
Kim Lip:
So, you're gonna shut the hell up about Jinsoul till me and Song-Yi get backIn the dining room Chuu checked her phone and immediately put it back in her pocket.
"What was that about?" Kim Lip's mother asked
"Oh uh just my dad saying what time to be home tomorrow!" Chuu quickly replied
Meanwhile, Kim Lip called Song-Yi back
"I made sure Chuu wouldn't talk so back to what I was saying. We're gonna tell mom and dad that Jinsoul is my friend with anxiety who just is too awkward and that we aren't that close. I leave notes to remind her she is important to me, alright?" Kim Lip quickly said
"Sounds good." Song -Yi replied
They both went back to their seats and began to eat, avoiding bringing up the previous conversation.
When Kim Lip's mother finally said something she repeated everything they decided on and the night carried on like normal until about midnight.
