Imagine David just realized basically that he's in deep s**t, and he calls you frantically-since you were there when played the game.

David was pacing around in his room, shuffling through papers, and would periodically check the phone. He started going into panic mode when he had seen his terrible scheme on the news.

So, he decided to call you since you were the only at this point that he could turn to. "Hello" you answer nervously. While you were calm-ish, David was not exactly screaming, but he was definitely not being calm! "Y/n...are you watching the news right now??" he asks stuttering while rubbing his forehead stressed out.

"Yes I am, how are your parents handling this? Are you gonna be grounded for the rest of your life? Gonna go to jail? Go into the electric chair. I seriously hope not!" he just sighs out of annoyance. "Y/n, please! Just stop! I don't know what's going to happen to me, I have no clue! And no, my parents don't know. I'm pretty sure that they weren't even paying attention anyway! I was standing right beside them." David frantically says.

"I apologize, David, it's just...I'm really scared for you. I mean, this is a big deal!" you say trying to calm him down. That just made him more anxious and upset. Not necessarily at you or anything, but he's already got his nerves shot! You can't blame him though, you'd be SUPER spooked too yourself!

"It's a HUGE deal, y/n! It's not like I just robbed some store, I just pretty much caused World War 3 to occur!" he shouts into the phone, which startles you enough to make you jump. David quiets down, because he remembered that he's not the only one home, plus the neighbors could possibly hear him too!

You both were silent for a moment, then you finally spoke up again. "David...take a deep breath, okay. You're right, it is a HUGE deal, but-." you stop talking, you hear him flipping out. "But what, y/n?" he asks a tiny bit more calmer this time. He's gonna end up going into cardiac arrest if he doesn't relax soon enough!

"I was just gonna say that...I'll take the blame with you, I was there. I saw what you did. I could've tried to talk you out of it, because it's nothing that we really knew about. But I-I didn't. We make mistakes, don't we?" you say kind of quiet.

There was a long pause before David started speaking again. He still sounded panicky, but more chill now. Thank god! "No y/n, you don't need to do that. I love you way too much to put you through that! No way in hell, that's not gonna hap-" you cut him off and try to reassure him that you'd be fine, "No, David. That's very loving of you to look out for me, but I'd be putting myself through that, not you! It's MY decision!"

"Y/n, please for once, just once. Don't help me out! This isn't exactly your mess or your idea for that matter!" you feel like it would be unfair of you not to help him out, but the more you think about it, you agree with him. "Okay, David. But, if you do eventually decide that you need help, you know my phone number." you say solemnly. He grins a little and sighs in relief.

"Thank you. I'm sorry, y/n, but it's really not your fight." you nod in agreement. "I know it's not, but if you end up going through hell, find a way out! After all, you are a hacker." you say almost jokingly, but also kind of serious. "Don't worry about me. Who knows, maybe the government won't know it was me." is that so, David? You didn't believe that for a second.

"David...I'm afraid I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that. I mean, come on now, it's the government!" he frowns, he knows you are right. He was just trying to have some hope for the situation. Good luck with that! "I know, listen y/n, I'm gonna go. I'm just going to act like nothing happened and try to keep my cool, okay. But also, one more thing!" he says while he kept looking at his bedroom door, just in case.

He is a bit paranoid that his parents could be listening in on the conversation between you two. "What?" you ask him, you're starting to get real nervous again for him. "For the love of god, please don't tell anyone about this, not even your BFF! Even though she's great at keeping secrets!" he says sternly. "Yes David, I won't tell anyone, I promise!" you reassure him.

"I love you, y/n, very much!" you sigh at him, you really hope that he's gonna be fine. The likeliness of that: probably not gonna happen for David! You can never be too sure about anything much. "I love you too, David. Just...attempt to be safe for crying out loud." you say taking a deep breath. "Pray for me, y/n!" he says sounding hopeless (whomever is currently reading this, I obviously don't know your religion if you have one, so please don't attack me for putting the wrong thing).

"David, I don't believe in god." you say clueless. "I know that...just-just at least stay positive for me!" he says stuttering a bit. "Okay. I'm gonna let you go now, bye, David." you say, then he says bye soon after. David hangs up, then sets the phone down. He goes to check out more papers in the trash can beside his bed, then he suddenly hears something coming from his computer. It's Joshua.

David goes over and "communicates" with him. Once David sees the amount of time left on his computer until World War 3 officially starts, he begins feeling sick to his stomach. He thought about calling you up again to tell you what he's witnessing, but quickly changed his mind. He instead grabbed his phone and sat on his bed. 'What have I done!' David thinks to himself. You wish that you could just give him a heartwarming hug right now. But you also want to slap him in the face for not playing chess like a good boy.
