Harry's pov

She looked so happy as she hopped around hers and ginnys room packing. Her bright pink hair in a bun as she packed 7 different types of sweets into her handbag "I think if you bring anymore sweets you'll become diabetic" I said with a laugh "well it was your idea to buy me half of honey dukes" she laughed "like I said, we had to figure out all your favourite types of sweets" I replied.

She only laughed before turning back to her dresser and began placing photos in her trunk. I looked at them, she had her entire dresser filled with pictures of her family, me and her, her and Ginny and merlin knows who else. Her hand hovered over one and she froze, I looked and noticed it was one of her and her father "you should bring it" I said placing it in her bag "I don't know...my family's controversial as it is..." she whispered

"and he's your father so screw what everyone thinks" I said. She smiled slightly and kissed my cheek before grabbing one last photo and handing it to me "I know you have plenty of photos of us but I want you to bring this one with you" she said as she placed it in my hand. I looked at and smiled. It was us a couple of days after I asked her to be my girlfriend, we were having a picnic with the others and she was on my back as I spinned her in circles "I made sure it was a magical photo...I know you like them type the best" she said with a smile. "I love it..thank you" I said. She only smiled before shooing me out to finish packing

Lilly's pov

The train ride was filled with a mix of excitement from younger students who weren't apart of the war while the older students sat quietly far too aware of the missing presence of friends and family. As I walked through the carriage with the others I noticed a couple of older ravenclaws shouting abuse at someone and walked over to them "hey!" I shouted, they turned around and I noticed it was Draco they were shouting at and I felt the anger bubble inside me

"get back to your own carriage now before I hex the shit out of all 3 of you!" I hissed. They ran away and I walked over to Draco who's face was cold "are you alright?" I asked him, reaching my hand out to him but he backed away "I'm fine" he spat, shaking himself and walking away. I watched him walk away and only turned around speeding away to find a seat "he'll come around" Ginny said "he doesn't deserve all this abuse" I whispered. I heard Ron begin to speak but was quickly told to shut up by Hermione. This year was going to be very long.

"Him head boy? They've got to be taking the piss!" Ron spat downstairs in the common room. I was sitting on the top of stairs listening "I mean seriously they've lost their minds" he said. I'd heard enough and stormed downstairs "my brother has been the second best student in this school in all his classes since first year, yes he's made some mistakes but so did I, I made mistakes that were worse than his yet you don't say any of this about me! He's deserves to be head boy just as much as Hermione deserves to be head girl. You're an absolute prick Ron" I shouted.

The common room fell silent "Im a what?" He asked "did I stutter?" I spat. He walked slowly over and I saw Harry's eyes widen as he stormed over "I'm fine Harry...." I said and he slowed down "you must think you're a big man now...part of the golden trio, best friends with Harry Potter. All this fame has went to your head Ron. Just remember your roots before you go and judge someone else" I hissed "I don't think I'm the one who needs to remember my roots Lilly. You're a higher class pureblood who comes from an evil family full of deatheaters....your family is spiteful and cruel and part of the reason Fred died" he spat.

Gasps could be heard all around the room "right Ron that enough" Harry said pulling him back "leave him be....I'm leaving. But before I do....I loved your brother....I love all your family like they are my own. If I could have swapped places with Fred I would have trust me I would have. I wouldn't of spent half my summer making sure your brother was mentally okay...making sure he had everything he needed and helping to get him back on his feet...but whatever you want to think you think" I said, tears slowly filling my eyes.

As I walked away Harry grabbed my arm "please...I need to leave...I need space" I said walking out. I walked my way to the heads dorm and knocked on the door "Lilly hi!" Hermione said "I need my brother" I said, tears were falling down my face at this point and I couldn't breath "are you okay? Come sit down" she sad ushering me in. Draco was on the sofa reading and I ran over to him "Lilly?" He said grabbing me "I-I...breath" I gasped "what's wrong?" Hermione questioned "she's having a panic attack, get me a glass of Water quickly" Draco said before turning to me "right Lilly I need you to breath...look at me come on you're all right I promise I've got you" He said,

I nodded trying to settle my breathing. It took 30 minutes to get me back to a normal breathing pace. Tears still running down my face as I sipped at the water Hermione had got me "what happened?" Hermione asked "Ron..." I whispered "what do you mean?" She asked "he..he said Draco didn't deserve head boy and when I had a go he tried to say me and my family played a part in Fred's death....I..how could he think that" I cried "I'll be right back" Hermione said, her face cold and shocked "I thought after this war everyone was going to get on but everyone is just as rude and cruel" I cried to Draco who held me tight

"shhh it's fine, you know weasel is only even thinking of himself so don't let his words bother you because I won't let them get to me" he said "it isn't fair how people are treating you, I done things worse than you but no one even cares to ask about them but you make one slip up and everyone is going mental about it" I said "we are Malfoys a Lilly, we are and will always be different to the people at this school and we are just going to have to get used to it" he said. I nodded

After awhile Hermione stormed in with Ron and Harry "what's going on?" Draco asked. I shuffled further back in my seat trying to ignore Ron's glare "rons going to make an apology aren't you?" Hermione hissed. She could be quit scary "I'm sorry Lilly" he whispered "And..?" Hermione said "And I'm sorry Malfoy, you earned your spot as head boy" he spat "whatever, I'm away upstairs. Granger shout when they've left. Bye Lilly" Draco said walking up the stairs. I only glared at Ron

"I'm usually quite nice and accept apologies quite quickly....but no. An apology isn't going to cut this, you're an ass Ronald Weasley and sooner or later everyone will see that" I spat shoving past him. "Lilly!" Harry shouted running after me "what?" I questioned "come on don't be like this" he said "be like what?" I said, my who body shaking "just accept his apology and get this over with please" he begged. My mouth made an O shape as I glared at him "you're taking the piss right!?" I spat "Lilly you know he didn't mean it" Harry said

"yes he did, I bet he's been itching to say it all summer. Open your eyes Harry he's just as blood prejudice and judgemental as half the death eaters were in the war" I hissed "but he's not a death eater, he fought for the right side!" Harry said "yea so did I but I'm still labelled one even without the mark. I don't have time for this Harry. You're either on his side or mine I really don't care" I said walking away.

A part of me was hurt when I didn't hear the footsteps follow me but instead the door slamming shut but I wasn't shocked. Of course he'd pick him...that his best friend after all, I fell to the ground and just let the tears come all the anger just flow out. This wasn't a 1st day at Hogwarts I wanted to remember.
