"I'm so glad we're back together Pat."
They were at lunch again. All 7 of them, because Maddy was there in spirit. It was like everything was coming together again. At least for Patrick. Who was super gay for Alex. But he had a secret. And he didn't know how to tell Alex that day.
"Y-Yeah..." Patrick whispered. Alex mostly ignored it for the rest of lunch.
"We should play another game!" Tia suggested excitedly in attempts to brighten the mood. It had been awhile since they played games. Alex immediately had flashbacks to that first night. Before the whole Alec thing. Before the whole drama thing.
"What if we play mafia?" Alec suggested brightly. He seemed to completely look over the fact that Alex and Patrick were together again. Even after he slept with Patrick.
"That sounds good," Taylah agreed.
All 7 of them shifted into a circle on their bench. They all agreed for Patrick to be the moderator. He went around to each member to whisper their role in the game.
Vicky—innocent
Alec—innocent
Taylah—doctor
Tia—mafia
Miku—detective
Alex...
He paused when he got to him. Because there was something he needed to say. He cupped his hands around his lips and whispered into his ear.
"I have heart cancer."
The world sat still.
"And I need to get a heart transplant tomorrow."
