Taylah's POV
Alec was angrily storming up and down the room. After the whole Alex fiasco, they decided to head back to Taylah's house to discuss what just happened.
Patrick wanted to get out that piece of paper, but he refused. Because he knew that Alec would be watching.
"What the fuck just happened?" Miku asked. I stared around the room. Patrick looked like he was panicking. More than usual. Alec looked furious. I understood. I knew where he was coming from.
They had been planning for like a year for this wedding. It was a shame that it didn't go through.
"I'm really sorry," Patrick apologised, taking his veil off. "I didn't...I didn't think anything would—"
"It's okay," Alec cut him off. "It's not you. It's Alex."
"Wait," Vicky cut through everyone as she stood up. "But who's heart it that?"
She pointed directly at Patrick's chest. We all stared in awe. That was a good point.
"I-I don't know..." he whispered. We all looked towards Alec, who was looking away into the distance.
"There's something I didn't tell you," he admitted. We all remembered that one day. When Patrick was in the hospital. Everyone was just hoping he'd make it out alive. Especially me.
"Well? What is it?" Patrick urged, but Alec didn't budge. It's as if he was remembering something dark. Something he didn't want to remember.
"It was supposed to be Alex, but he just backed out last minute," he said. I gasped.
"What?" Patrick shrieked.
"So, instead, you have another heart in you. I think her name was Sharon Smith or something," Patrick clutched his chest, as if he had lost something. Lost comfort.
"But I thought..." he trailed off.
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't ever tell you because that damn fucker is so selfish," Alec antagonised. He sneered with an evil laugh. "You deserve better Patrick."
"Well," he reached over and placed his hand on Alec's hand. "It's better now. I have you."
They kissed gently. I just watched.
"Maybe we should get something to eat?" I suggested. Everyone happily agreed.
"So did the doctor know about everything?" Patrick asked, his voice more lighthearted now. I was happy that he was more comfortable. We began to stand up and walk down the stairs.
"Yeah. Doctor Femia knew everything. He was onboard with it," Alec shrugged off. "We're long time friends actually."
"Oh cool," as Patrick lent over the staircase, he accidentally cut himself on some exposed wood. "Ow."
"Oh my god, are you okay?" Alec asked nervously. He held his lover's hand to stop the bleeding.
"Did you know that you can save someone by applying direct pressure on the cut or wound with a clean cloth, tissue, or piece of gauze until bleeding stops?" Vicky informed.
"Ah, thanks Vicky," Alec said, getting his socks and wrapping it around Patrick's hand, all the way down to his wrist. He watched his fiance lovingly. I could feel the love.
"What if we get maccas?"
"Yeah sounds good."
