It All Started With Truth or Dare

"Truth or dare Alex," Taylah said, lying back on the couch.

"Truth," he rolled his eyes lazily, clutching his phone in his left hand.

"You wouldn't pick dare," Miku teased, laughing. "You wouldn't pussy."

"Fine," he murmured. "Dare."

This is where it all began.

Taylah snickered to herself, and shot a look to all the other members, except Patrick, who seemed really excited.

"I dare you," she started. "To kiss..." there was hesitation. "...Patrick."

The room went silent. Alex blushed.

"N-No," he stammered. "I'm not going to kiss Patrick!"

"Why not? Pussy," Miku egged him on.

"Let's not do this..." Maddy said, almost whispering.

"But it'll be funny. Patrick had sex with Tyler in the last round," she enthused. "Come on Alex. It'll be fun!"

For a second, the room stood still. Patrick glanced over to Alex with an enticing look. Alex looked away.

"Well, if he's not going to do it then we should move-" Vicky started, but she was quickly cut off by Alex.

"No," he said, sounding more confident than anyone expected. "I'll do it."

Patrick nearly screamed, his voice clogging in his throat. Everyone stared in borderline denial. Looks ranged from complete shock to overwhelming excitement.

"O-Okay," Patrick was the first to speak up. His hands were nearly trembling. "Do it."

His usually confident demeanour seemed to wash away at an instant. He didn't know why but...he felt so raw, so real when he gazed towards Alex like that. It was something he hadn't noticed before. His brown eyes matching his blue.

The group seemed to split apart for them, shifting to the corners of the couch so Alex could approach him. Patrick could see Vicky's burning face and Maddy's pale one from the corner of his eye, but he didn't care. He was so stuck in the moment, so engulfed, that he didn't care about anything else.

Patrick slowly lifted up his arm. He could feel his fingertips lightly tremble. He lightly pressed against Alex's cheek, the other boy's skin blushing red. The brunette swooped in lower, turning his head just enough so he could peck his lips ever so lightly.

That's when he felt it. Fireworks.

The first person to part was Patrick, who felt the excitement and rush crawl up his chest and to his throat. He couldn't take it. As he opened his eyes again, he stared directly towards Alex, who's eyes were still closed. It was like he was still in the moment...like he didn't want it to end...

Patrick shook his head, scrambling back to his side of the couch. When the other boy opened his eyes again, there was a moment of silence. And then everyone started screaming. That's when reality began to seep back in.

"I can't believe you did it!" Vicky shouted, her words filled with shock. Alex's face turned completely red.

"I-I..." he couldn't manage to say any words. Everyone around him began to laugh and crack up like it was some joke. That he was some joke. He could feel his blood boil as he gritted his teeth.

"Well you dared me to do it!" he boomed angrily, slamming down his phone on the couch. Everyone stopped laughing.

"D-Dude, relax it was just a dare," Miku chuckled awkwardly, trying to calm the mood.

"Yeah, I mean Patrick had to do it too," Taylah mentioned lightheartedly.

"I didn't want to do it!" his eyes met with Patrick, and the other boy glanced away. "Y-You shouldn't have made me do it..."

He suddenly dashed away, rushing down the stairs. He only left the small "bang" of his phone behind. His friends sat there in bewilderment.

"S-Should we get him?" Maddy asked, looking the most concerned.

"No, he's just being moody again," Taylah laughed. "C'mon, let's move on."

Patrick stared, his eyes following the hastily taken path in Alex's departure.

He sighed.

"I'll get him," Patrick said in a quiet voice. People began to look over in confusion.

"Why?" Miku asked. "You guys were never that close."

"Yeah, and I think he wants to be by himself," Vicky added.

"I think...he's misunderstood," he tried to reason. "Just let me talk to him."

"You can go ahead but I don't know if he's gonna be feeling better," Taylah shrugged.

Patrick shoved his hands into his jean pockets and walked down the stairs. His eyes skimmed around the darkly lit kitchen. It was empty. He then poked his head into the completely silent living room. Nothing.

"Alex...?" it was almost a whisper. There was no answer. He followed the path alongside the kitchen and stared at the backyard.

He could make out a slim figure on the stairs of Taylah's porch. He was hugging his knees to his chest and glancing at the ground. His chest churned with pity.

"Hey Alex..." he slowly slid open the door and tiptoed onto the wooden porch. The other boy snapped towards him and he noticed his bloodshot eyes. "Are you okay?"

"What do you think?" he grumbled. Patrick lowered himself next to him on the small set of stairs.

There were just the two of them. Alone in Taylah's backyard. The sky is dark and the only source of light is the few stars that they could make out. Silence filled between for a moment before Patrick spoke up.

"Do you regret that we kissed?" he muttered, running his fingers through his super sexy brown hair. His eyes roamed towards Alex's face, their gazes missing each other's. Patrick's super gay. Alex didn't answer. He just continued to stare out into oblivion, feeling his heartbeat in his ear. "Because I don't."

Alex suddenly widened his eyes, shock completely washing over him. Was Alex...gay? Nah. He couldn't love Patrick. He hated Patrick. Patrick's a stupid asshole with a gay-ass haircut and this dumb nose. And he isn't funny, and nice and has a killer laugh. Alex couldn't be in love with Patrick because...he wasn't like that.

But he was. He was an absolute faggot. Right to the core. His lust for men controlled his entire consciousness; suppressing the feeling became too much.

Alex lunged over to him, holding Patrick's cheeks within his hands and leaning over. Their lips crashed messily, with Patrick unable to understand the situation. His eyes were wide open with surprise. But when his mind caught up to the situation, he eased up to the kiss.

When they parted, Alex gazed towards him in awe, "I think I'm in love with you Patrick."

The gay boy gasped, holding his hands to his lips, "Really?" he asked in disbelief, "But I'm just a lame loser that'll end up homeless in a few years."

"But you're my lame loser that'll end up homeless in a few years."

They both mirrored each other's smiles, laughing to each other's necks and cuddling tightly. Alex rested his hand around Patrick's waist, pulling him in.

"I think I love you," he admitted, staring deeply in his eyes.

"Well, I know that I love you."

Patrick's so gay. But Alex was too.
