    17-year-old esper, Amber Raelin, had spent most of her entire life hiding her ability. The term esper refers to someone who can use paranormal abilities, and has extrasensory perception(ESP). Amber's powers include the ability to create and manipulate electricity. This power had been passed down through her family every seven generations. But in the world she lives in, espers are thought of as monsters and oddities. At a young age, she had lost both of her parents, who were killed by another esper. Not long after that, her brother, Aqua, was killed too, by an esper with the unique ability to make blades, who had stabbed Aqua to death. This had left Amber completely alone at home, but despite all of that, she had managed to make it through on her own for the past 7 years.

Everything had gone mostly well for her at school while she had hidden her abilities, but that all changed after an incident that forced her to reveal them. She and two other girls from her class, who had, up until then, been her friends, had gotten stuck in the elevator. The two girls had started panicking, banging on the doors frantically, but the elevator had completely broken down. By then, Amber realized that the only thing she could do to help get out of situation Quickly was to use her powers to take control of the elevator and start it up again. She touched her hand to the panel of buttons and sent a small surge of electricity through it, into elevators wires and controls. Less than a moment after that, the elevator started moving again, good as new. She turned around to see her friends, staring at her with looks of horror.

Not long after that, rumors about her had spread throughout the whole school. They had spread rumors that Amber had tried to attack the other two girls and trapped them in the elevator, when she had actually saved them. All the students started to call her names like Electric Monster, and Lightning Beast. Whenever she walked through the school grounds, groups of students threw rocks and crumbled paper and sharp pens and pencils at her. Her friends also started to ignore her whenever she was around, telling the others to stay away from her. After putting up with this bullying for a couple of hard months, Amber had finally had enough of it.

"It's time for me to teach these people a lesson." She said to herself as she walked into the school. The bullying started. The crowd of people waiting at the gate, rocks at the ready, started hurling stones at her. She knocked each of the rocks out of the air before they hit her. Everything just like usual.

"Go away, monster. Get out of here, no one wants you here." They yelled. They all chanted 'monster' as loud as the could. Amber walked towards them, a petrifying look on her face, electricity fizzing at the tips of her fingers. As she got closer to them, they started to slowly back away, but kept yelling their insults and chanting 'monster' louder and louder.

Amber mumbled to the crowd of students in front of her, under her breath. "I'll show you just how much of a monster I can be."
