The next Day
Classes at the academy started at 8:30, so Amber got up at 7. She had packed her bag and gotten her stuff ready the night before. She completed her normal morning routine, just like always. She decided to wear something casual for her first day. A white t-shirt and a pleated navy-blue skirt, with her panda sweater. She wore black knee-high socks and boots. She grabbed her backpack and headed outside. After walking about 10 minutes she had arrived at school and saw Emerald standing by the school gate.
"Hey Emerald!" Amber called out to him with a smile.
"H-huh?" Emerald said turning around, startled. Then he returned her smile. "O-oh, it's just you Amber."
A crowd had gathered at the battlefield where Amber and Emerald had fought yesterday. There was still some time before classes started so they decided to investigate what was causing all the commotion.
There was a girl with long red hair and bright red eyes was fighting a boy with silvery white hair and pink-red eyes. Wait, Amber thought. I know that guy! That's Silver, the boy I met yesterday.
The girl's eyes were blazing, radiation in the sun, and she had a sword which was engulfed in bright red flames, and the boy, Silver, had pale blue ice particles forming at his fingertips.
"Why are they fighting? Won't the teachers get mad or something?" Amber asked curiously.
"Oh, the teachers don't mind at all. The students can fight whenever they want, as long as it's on a battlefield, and they aren't disrupting the classes or anything. It's actually encouraged and considered as training. We have to fight during PE, too." Emerald replied. Amber smiled. Going to this school would be a lot of fun for her. Yesterday was her first time fighting another esper.
And it would be great practice if she ever ran into the person who murdered her brother.
Amber and Emerald watched the fire girl and Silver fight. The fight was really intense. After a few more physical combat attacks, Silver was able to freeze the girl with his ice powers, but she almost immediately thawed it out using the heat from her sword.
"You really are getting way too dependent on that sword, don't you think?" Silver said.
"Really? Just shut up and Let-Me-Win-!" The girl said, racing towards Silver with her sword and stabbing him in the arm. Silver now had a large cut on his arm, and the wound was bleeding a lot. Silver fell to his knees and turned pale as the girl approached him with her sword again.
"Alright, Alright. Scarlett, you win! Just... please don't kill me." Silver pleaded, as if he was afraid of this 'Scarlett' person, and he covered his wound with a layer of ice to freeze it and stop it from bleeding out much more than it already had.
"Yeah! I W0N! HA!!!" Scarlett yelled in triumph. After the fight was over, she helped the boy into the school to go to the nurse's office.
Amber glanced at her phone. It was already 8:20. They would need to head to class soon. "Hey, Emerald, what class are you in? I'm in 2C." Amber asked, hoping that they were in the same class.
"Same, 2C. Don't worry, the headmaster already told the teachers that you're a new student, but you'll still probably have to give a small introduction to the class. So be prepared for it." Emerald said with a big grin.
They walked into the building to the second floor, and stopped in front of a classroom that had 2-C written above the door. Emerald stopped them before they entered the room.
(Ima bout to write the cheesiest scene in existence)
"About what happened yesterday," Emerald began. The mention of yesterday's events made Amber's face start to heat up again. Emerald brought one finger up to his lips. "It's our secret, okay?" Emerald winked. Amber's heart skipped a beat.
