Emerald managed to say. He was already breathing heavily and was barely standing, but had somehow able to get up.
"Thanks, Emerald! You're not too bad yourself. I'll be looking forward to your defeat." Amber said with a confident and, despite not having much energy, cheery smile. A very faint blush appeared on Emerald's face.
"By the way, why do you keep looking at the sky? Don't tell me you're gonna make it rain or something." Emerald laughed.
Not a mind reader, Amber noted, relieved. She let out a laugh, and Emerald looked at her, confused. "Wrong. I can't even control the rain anyway." She answered.
"Then what are you planning to-" Emerald began, but Amber cut him off, snapping her fingers.
Emerald made the mistake of looking up at the clouds at that exact moment. A large blue flash of lightning came from the clouds, and Emerald, frozen with surprise didn't have time to teleport out of the way, and was struck by a bolt of electricity. The entire scene disappeared into bright white light. When the light disappeared, Emerald collapsed onto his knees. Surprisingly, he was still conscious. Just before the bolt hit him, he used a large bubble as defense, which absorbed most of the force, but the lightning still broke through the barrier and hit him a great deal of force."
"That's enough. Amber, you pass. You will start in class 2-C tomorrow. I'll prepare your materials for you, so be sure to pick them up from my office before you leave today." The headmaster told Amber.
"Thank you headmaster. I'll make sure to stop by there." Amber replied.
"By the way, do you have any siblings that went to this school?" The headmaster asked.
"I had an older brother. I know he went to an all-esper school, but I don't know which one. Aqua Raelin." Amber answered after a second.
"Just as I thought. Aqua was one of my best students. He had a lot of potential as an esper. It is a shame that he died. Your fighting style and stance are very similar to his. That technique you used at the end was very original, though. I admire your creativity.""It was the perfect conditions to use it." Amber explained, pointing towards the sky. "I still need to work on how much power I use though. I could have actually killed him."
From the corner of her eye, Amber saw Emerald, now somehow fully standing up, staring at her. When he saw that she had noticed him looking at her, his face turned bright red, and he quickly looked away. Amber started to wonder why he had been staring at her, and why he had suddenly blushed like that. Did something happen?
"You two should head to the infirmary now. Both of you took a lot of damage from that match." The headmaster said to both of them."
"Yes, headmaster." Emerald said.
"Thank you for letting me attend this school." Amber told the headmaster, before the started to head for the stairs, moving more by limping than walking.Once they got to the stairs, Emerald asked, "Are you sure you'll be fine walking up those stairs?"
"Don't worry about it. I'll be-OW!" As Amber went to climb the first step of the stairs, a sharp pain went through her. She stood there, clutching her side, and bracing herself on the railing.
"Sorry about that." Emerald apologized.
"It's fine. I probably did worse to you, anyway."
(Somehow, after getting electrocuted, Emerald's perfect, shiny blonde hair stayed perfectly fine.
-I love this so much, as the original owner, I request you to keep this in the Wattpad story, if you put it there.
And add that I said that please- L)"Don't worry about it. I was able to block most of the electricity." He answered. Amber tried to take another step up the stairs, but winced from the pain and almost stumbled. Emerald caught her by the shoulder before she could fall. "You should be more careful. You're already in bad enough shape as it is."
"Sorry." Amber mumbled.
"Geez, what are you even apologizing for. I'm the one who did this to you anyway." Emerald sighed. "I guess I might as well pay you back, by helping you out as an apology." Emerald bent down, putting one hand on Amber's back to steady her, and one under her knees, and lifted her up.
"W-W-W-what a-are you doing?" Amber asked, panicking. Emerald's face turned a bright shade of red.
"I'm helping you get to the infirmary. There's no way you can make it there on your own. Teleporting takes to much power with my ability, so I can't really do that. You'll just have to bear with it for now." Emerald said, avoiding looking Amber in the eyes. It was obvious he was embarrassed about carrying her like this, just as much, if not more, than she was, so Amber decided to just leave it at that.
As soon as they entered the infirmary, Amber slowly started to feel a bit better. Emerald put her down, and she was able to stand, and almost walk normally.
"Well, this is a surprise."
