*The next day*

Tox's POV

"Sooo... I thought we could go to town today!" I suggest. "Why?" Shade frowns, sitting in his bed. "Cause one, your suite is REALLY dark! Two, you'll need some fresh air!" "I get perfectly good air from standing on my balcony so..." "Stop fussing!" "I'm not fuss-" "Cmon!" I walk up to him and give him my *special* look. "You're coming with me NOW!" "Geez..." He slowly gets up from his bed and follows me out of the door. "Hi, sis! Where are you going?" "Just a short visit to the town!" I answer. "Can I come?" "Eh... I think it's better if it was just the two of us..." I mumble. "Cmon Shade! Let's go!" If I didn't know about his story I would probably have grabbed his arm and dragged him out but... I know he wouldn't like it. We walk down and out of the building before summoning our dragons. "Have you used your dragon much recently?" I ask. "Not really... didn't see the point of it!" When we land and starts walking around I notice that Shade seems pretty... tense? Why? "Is something wrong?" I ask. "I just... I'm kinda used to being laughed at when others see me..." "Why would they do that?" "Cause they think I look weird with my grey skin and violet eyes... calling me things like the child of the overlord or an oni... stuff like that..." "Shade, you're beautiful! Don't EVER let people tell you otherwise!"

Shade's POV

Did she just call me... beautiful? Mommy was the only one who used to call me that... "Cmon! Let's go to a store and buy something!" "What? Wait!" Since when did I agree to go to the store? Since I don't have another choice I just follow her and sees her standing beside a shelf, looking for something... "What are you looking for?" "A new guitar string!" she answers. "One of them broke yesterday!" "You... play guitar?" "Yeah... Not in public though... I'm pretty bad!" She smiles. "But my sister and my BFF AND her boyfriend tell me that I should do an audition! Like! Gosh, they can be SO annoying sometimes!" I don't know why but... I can't help but... smile a bit... WHY AM I SMILING? "I'm just gonna go pay for the string! You can wait outside if you want!" I shake my head, I don't have any reason to wait outside for her. I wait for her by the INSIDE of the door when she pays before we leave together. "Wanna go get some ice cream before we continue?" "Eh... Sure I guess?" Good! Cmon!" Can she stop running every time she is going somewhere? "What flavor do you want?" "Eh... Blueberry?" "Sure!" Feels weird in some kind of way... Mommy always bought me ice cream when I was little... "I'll pay for it!" "No! It's okay! I got this!" she smiles and takes out her credit card. Once we get our ice cream we sit down on a bench and starts eating. "Soooo... You like ice cream?" I nod and bites off a piece of the cone. "Blueberry is my favorite..." "Cause it's purple?" I nod again, chuckling a bit... Why? Why do I feel like this when I'm with her? "Is purple your favorite color?"  "No... Violet!" "Just like your eyes..." I nod again.

3rd persons POV

"Admit that you're having fun!" Tox teased giving Shade a big smile. He turned away, feeling his face slowly heating up. Not really knowing why... "Let's go.." He mumbled before getting up and started walking towards the street. "So what do you wanna do now?" "I don't know..." "Hmm... we COULD just walk around and see if anything interesting is happening right now!" "That's fine with me..." ah they started walking Tox noticed that a lot of people were starring at them... some even laughing. "What's so funny?" She frowned, walking up to them. "That two freaks are walking together! Like, is he your boyfriend or what?" Shade was used to be called things like that so he didn't do much while Tox was starting to get kinda pissed of. "Okay, one! Who are you to call us freaks? And two! He's my friend, not my boyfriend! Or do I have to make it clearer?" She pulled one of them closer to her and whispered coldly in his ear. "F-R-I-E-N-D-S!" When she pulled away she SLAPPED him in front of the others before turning around, signaling for Shade to follow her. Shade really didn't know what to do and he felt that he needed some time to think. He walked past her and into an ally and sat down in the corner, knowing she would follow him.

"Shade are you okay?" she asked as she sat down beside him. "Don't listen to them! They're cowards!" "I know... Don't worry! I'm kinda used to being called things like that..." he sighed, looking down at his knees. "But why didn't you just ignore them?" "Tsk! They were laughing at us! What harm do we cause them just by walking down the street?" "Let's just go..." Shade got up on his legs and without really knowing why... he started running, away from the ally and down on the street. Tox followed him to some stairs which surprisingly was empty. When he was halfway down Shade felt his left foot slip on something before he lost his balance. "Shade! Are you okay?" Tox grabbed onto the metal fence and slid down to him as he let out a shriek of pain while holding his right leg. "Broken..." she sighed after examining it a bit. "I know you don't like it but I might have to carry you, or you'll just lean at my side... you need to go to the hospital!" Shade shook his head, unable to talk. He tried to get up before another wave of pain went thru his leg. "T-tox... i-it hurts!" Tox kneeled down to him and slowly picked him up, being careful with his leg. Shade felt uncomfortable but had given up the idea of trying to get out of her grip... knowing the pain would only increase if she dropped him.
