Chapter 17

Nora's pov

"That's Alpha Swade to you Nora"
Beta Swade spoke and I growled low my claws starting to come out and my body shaking with anger

Then Owen stepped between us

"Dad you're no longer the Alpha, I am and Nora there's no need to fight I'm sure we can talk this through" Owen spoke and his voice managed to calm me down

Janet then came downstairs and she looked between me and Swade she then just froze in place

"Janet babe are you okay " Finn spoke giving her a little shake then she suddenly snapped out of it and shook her head a little

"I'm fine babe" she spoke back to Finn

She stared at Swade then tried to walk past him but he then stepped in front of her and introduced himself

"I am Alpha Swade " he said while stretching out his hand and Owen just roles his eyes at his father

"I'm Janet " she says rather as a warning and her eyes begin to fog over with a yellowish fog

She took his hand and her eyes turned a full on yellow and she starts to vibrate, she starts recite chants and some wired incantations, her eyes are wide staring at the hand of  Swade

"Oh no" Finn says while rushing towards Janet 

He tries to tug her off but she dosent budge

She just holds on to Swade tighter and Swade begins to panic and he struggles

Finally Janet speaks words that I understand

"You hurt the goddess, you took away a title , your betrayal will not go unpunished " Janet says before she suddenly collapses

Finn carries her and walked away

Swade regains his composure and he clears his throat and I can't help but smile at how frightened he is and I guess I'm not the only one, Owen is also smiling

Swade snarls at us before he leaves

It's just Owen and I now and I asked him

"Okay what's the deal, why are you here "

"My father wanted me to sign a treaty with this pack since this is a neighbour pack and it consists of two very strong packs but when I got in here I umm "

"I think my umm mate is here " Owen said breaking his sentence into two

I squeal so loud I'm sure everyone can hear me
"Oh my gosh Owen " I say pulling him in to a hug

I let go of him and say
"I'm so happy for you oh I wonder what she's like "

I'm so excited that I pull him into another hug then I suddenly hear a loud growl behind me I turn around and see Stephanie

Okay that's weird hmmm I wonder if they're mates it'll be so cool

I let go and start to introduce them

"Stephanie this is Owen and Owen this is "

"Mate" they say at the same time interrupting my introduction how rude

Stephanie walks towards him and she touches his cheek lightly and I start to feel awkward and just as I was about to excuse myself they just started kissing

I took it as my cue and I left and headed to my room I was walking fast and I bumped into someone

I was about to fall when that someone held me by my waist stopping me from falling

"Hi" the handsome stranger said flashing his white teeth in a smile

"Hi " I said back to the stranger as he set me on my feet

"Thanks" I tell him when I'm sure I'm balanced

"No problem, I'm Zack " the stranger said to me

"I'm Nora and I owe you one " I tell him with a small smile

"Since you owe me would you go out with me for lunch " he said looking a little nervous aww he's cute

"Will you buy me food" I tell him very seriously

"Sure I guess" he tells me

"Come get me by 2" I say with a smile while mella is annoyed that I accepted

"Cool, see you tomorrow then" he says to me with a very big smile

"Yh" I say back to him and begin to head to my room

I go into my room and just lay down on my bed and I think, Nora what are you doing with your life then I suddenly get angry with myself

I can't help but feel like I'm the cause the situation that I'm in, I couldn't save my parents, I can't make my mate love me, I can't do anything even with the powers of the moon freaking goddess

I need to run

I open my closet and pick out some running clothes and I start to strip when I hear a very deep and low growl

I look behind me and I see Rowan, his eyes dark and filled with lust and I just stare, shit I'm naked usually I'll be blushing and shouting at him but I don't even say anything, I just put on my running clothes which is a dark blue sports bra and some grey joggers

His eyes are still dark and they're following my every move

I pick up my previous clothes and go to the bathroom to put them in a pile and I can feel his eyes on me every step I take I put the clothes in my laundry basket and start to leave the room just praying that he will let me leave but I spoke too soon

"Nora " he said in a very deep and low voice that sent shivers through me

"Alpha Rowan " I reply emotionlessly turning to face him

He growls a little then speaks

"I'm sorry, for everything " he says walking towards me

"You are beautiful "  he says again stretching his arm out to touch me but I flinch and he doesn't hide the hurt expression on his face

He moved even closer and touched my arm, the tingles making me out of breath

I look up at him and I start to feel nervous and I bite my lip out of habit, he looks at my lips then at me and I was expecting him to kiss me but he didn't he hugged me and I started to hear sobs, was he crying

I couldn't take this, I can't let him cry

"Shhhh, don't cry please, Rowan please don't cry " I moved him to sit at the edge of my bed

I cupped his cheeks with my hands and I said

"Don't cry, I can't take it please " tears starting to roll down my own cheeks

"Nora, I really don't deserve you, I've treated you like shit and I pushed you away for my own selfish reasons, I never once considered you and I'm sorry, Nora I...I...I love you " Rowan said to me and as he said those last words my body froze
