Nora's pov
I sit at a table in the Night howl pack during the ball with a wine glass in my hand as I try to concentrate on something doe is saying, she's beautiful and looks harmless but she's very strong and nice she's the perfect luna for Seth

"May I have this dance my lady" Seth suddenly appears with a hand stretched out to doe and she places her hand in his, the way they stare at each other in admiration has me letting out a silent aww

They leave not even sparing me a second glance and I twirl the wine in the glass that I'm holding, I'm bored out of my mind

I simply stare at Alphas, Lunas and other high ranking wolves engage in small talk as other's waltz beautifully on the dance floor

A guy comes towards me and I can sense that he's a beta he has pretty hazel eyes that look very familiar

"Hey, I'm Ren" hazel eyes says

Ren, where have I heard that name, Ren Ren I got it

"Ren, I remember you" I tell him with a smirk as he looked shocked clearly not recognising me

"I don't think I know you" he says thinking deeply and my smirk grows deeper

"Do you remember the girl that you says looks like a dirty little mutt" I ask remembering the day he embarrassed me after I was dared to kiss him when I was 14

His eyes widen in recognition and he whispers in shock

"Anora"

"Bingo, but I go by Nora now" I tell him cringing slightly as I remember the day my mother told me that I should never let anyone call me Anora, I had initially questioned it but I let it go over time

"Wow" Ren says snapping my out of my thoughts

"You're so beautiful now" he says in awe as his eyes trail down the blue long sleve gown that Rowan insisted I wore

"So I was ugly before, okayy" I said rolling my eyes as I get up and he gets up with me

"No not that, it's just that now you're so pretty" he says still shocked and I was about to retort when I was cut off by a deep velvety voice that had mella purr

"I do agree with you, my mate is very pretty" and I can see Ren tense at he comes face to face with my mate

And Rowan whispers something in his ear that has Ren walking away with fear in his eyes

"What did you say to him" I ask Rowan who smiles at me innocently

"Don't worry about it ma desse, would you like to dance" he says still smiling and he stretches out his palm towards me

I put my hand in his and say "why not" as he leads me to the dance floor

He places a firm hand on my waist and I place one on his shoulder and we gently sway to the music

We dance with smiles on our faces and Rowan twirls me and I dip and I giggled lightly

"Can I cut in" I hear the familiar voice and my teeth clench in anger and Rowan looks at me with a raised eyebrow but I just give him a tight smile

"Of course you can Austin" Rowan says with a small smile trying to be polite letting go of me

"But don't get too close she's mine" he finishes off with a small laugh as he walks away maintaining eye contact if only he knew and I need to tell him but I don't want to ruin the friendship

Austin's hand on my waist breaks my train of thought and I frown at the faint sparks as he puts his hand in mine

"I see you haven't told him yet" Austin says as I look at him
