I sit up and wipe the sleep from my eyes, while I reach for my phone to check the time. 8:02, it reads. Perfect I think to myself. That means the music store just opened two minutes ago. I smile and quickly throw on an old band T-shirt and some skinny jeans. I glance at my faded blue hair in the mirror. Eh it's pretty messy but oh well.

I grab my beaten down drumsticks and rush down the stairs

"bye mama I love ya! Be back later." I shout even though I'm pretty sure she's still asleep.

I rush out the door and jog for a couple of miles to the music store. As I push open the door, the bells chime like always and the smiling employee greets me. She's beautiful, I've never seen her before.

"Hello," she says sweetly with a smile on her face. "May I help you with anything sir?"

I feel myself start to blush, shoot...

"Oh, uh um I-,"

She smiles at me, but I can tell she's waiting for me to respond.

"No, I um just come here to drum everyday." I say quietly.

"Oh that's really cool!" She says it like she means it and I feel a genuine smile tug at the corners of my lips.

"Well, my names Debby, it was a pleasure to meet you."

I smile and blush a little bit more.

"Josh," I mumble, "it was um nice to meet you too." I glance at her and notice her cheeks are a little red as well. Why am I so awkward and anxious all the time..? Ugh.

I hurriedly rush over to the drum section and go to my favorite drum set. It's sky blue and red, those are some of my favorite colors. I tug my drumsticks out of my jean pockets and get comfortable on the stool in front of the drum set.

I tap the cymbals a little bit and laugh quietly. The way I delicately tap it makes me laugh for some reason. I guess I'm just weird. I think about lots of different songs and decide on an old "Coldplay" song to play.

After drumming for what doesn't even seem like very long I notice I'm starving and I check the time on my phone. 7:36 pm, geez.. I've been here all day. The store closes at 9, so I can still stay here awhile longer.. however, I promised my brother I'd play some MarioKart with him, so I guess I better get back.

As I stand up and stretch, I notice something on the ground close to me. It looks like just a piece of paper but I pick it up to take a closer look. No way! Debby's phone number!? Holy crap. I blush like crazy and shove it in my pocket next to my drumsticks. I practically rush out the door and race home so I can text her as soon as possible.

"Dude you're finally back! Thought you were gonna spend the night there or something." My brother says and chuckles to himself. He must think he's hilarious.

I roll my eyes "ah come on dude that's dumb, of course I wouldn't spend the night there."

"Yeah duh I know that, come on let's play MarioKart!" He grins and jumps up and down.

"I made you peanut butter and jelly, it's on the table in the living room so you can eat and play at the same time."

Ugh.. I suddenly don't wanna play at all I just wanna text Debby but whatever. I walk over to the couch and select my character while I take a massive bite of my sandwich.

My brother and I play for a couple hours and finally he gets tired and leaves. Yes! I run upstairs to my room and close the door, I pull my phone out and punch in her number as quickly as I can.
Josh: Heyyy :)
Debby: ...

My heart races as I see her chat bubble appear on the screen. Come on Josh don't panic.. it's only the most beautiful girl in the entire world texting you. Don't panic, don't panic, don't panic!

A/N: I'm not sure how this thingy is going to end up but I hope it's good! Hopefully you like it so far, I have a few plans in mind for future chapters! :D stay alive.
