[ MADDIE ]

I wasn't exactly a fan of Hayes Grier.

To be honest, I would not even know who he was if Mackenzie didn't have an obsession with his brother. She goes on and on about that magcon thing they're in but I don't really pay attention to what she says.

Clearly I don't even know him well enough to even recognize him in the situation that I come in to contact with him.

I decided to be a polite person so I favourited and retweeted his tweet, then I followed him.

Who would've guessed that he already followed me. I was quite surprised to find that out when I viewed his profile but then again of course he followed me because he tagged me in the tweet.

I put my headphones on and headed into the taxi on route to our hotel with everyone else.

My phone beeps, indicating that I've received a direct message on twitter. It just happens to be from the one and only Hayes Grier.

@HayesGrier : So Maddie I heard you'll be at the teen choice awards in a few days. Can't wait to see you again ;)

@MaddieZiegler : yea I guess I'll see you there

This is all too weird. Earlier today all I thinking about was how annoying my sister's Nash Grier obsession is and then somehow I ended up running into his brother.

What are the odds?

HAYES

"Dude she's like 12," my older brother states as he repeatedly jumps on to his bed. He claims to be 17 but I have my suspicions that he is an undercover 6-year old.

I'm currently in my hotel room with my brother Nash and our friend Cameron. I told them about Maddie -- not that they didnt know about my "crush" prior to this moment -- and they are basically scolding me, telling me all the things wrong with liking her.

They claim that it was harmless when I was admiring from the screens of my television and phone but now that this is real life, I've got to get over it due to the age difference.

"She's mature for her age," I protest, "and she's  actually 13 turning 14 in like two months," I add and Cameron rolls his eyes.

"Oh God Hayes, but Hayes you have to remember don't even really know this girl," Cameron insists, emphasizing the word really. He runs one of his hands though his hair, clearly frustrated by the whole situation not that he has any reason to be.

"On the contrary, I know her from Dance Moms. I watch it all the time," I counter proudly.

I've probably seen every episode of all 5 seasons. I'll admit, the first few seasons were the best and it's just been going downhill since Paige and Brooke left but Maddie will always be amazing even if the quality of the show isn't.

Nash and Cameron burst out into laughter making me think that it's not something I should be bragging about.

"That's like when people say they know us because of Magcon. Sure, they know the onstage version of us, but they don't know the real us," he adds and Nash nods in agreement.

He has a point there. Obviously the Hayes that my fans see and the Hayes that my friends see are two completely different people. I have to keep up an act in front of my fans and behave how them and our management would want us to but with my friends I can be myself.

It's probably something similar with Maddie but I don't doubt that she is as great as I think she is, maybe she's even better.

"Well then I'll become friends with her first," I shrug. It shouldn't be too hard, we've already met I just need to continue on from there.

"That's not what we mean. You gotta think about things like the long distance, what the fans will think, what the media will think, the age gap, etc. You have to put all these things into consideration buddy," Cameron points out.

"I'll think about all of those," I mumble as I pull out my phone.

@HayesGrier : Hey Maddie, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out before the TCA's. I come to LA a lot and I know my way around so I could show you some things.

I sent this an hour ago. I'm still sitting on my bed waiting for her to reply. Cam and Nash are watching some stupid shit on tv but all I can focus on is my phone. My phone dings and I know it's Maddie.

@MaddieZiegler : OMG yea that sounds cool, I'm so up for it!! but can my sister come along that's the only way my mom will let me go.

I respond immediately.

@HayesGrier : That would be great. My brother and his friend Cam will be there anyway so I'd love to meet her.

@MaddieZiegler : oh then you better prepare your brother. My sister has an insane obsession with him. She's the reason I know who you guys are.

"Guys," I exclaim to the distracted teenage boys intrigued by the television.

"What," they yell in sync both not looking away from the television.

"Good news boys. Tomorrow we are hanging out with Maddie and her little sister," I inform them with a happy smile. Both boys turn to look at me.

"What did you do Hayes," Cameron moans.

"Oh and Nash, a little heads up. Her little sister may have a slight, well a major obsession with you," I add happily.

"Oh no. Screaming children," Nash mutters clearly horrified. Nash loves his young fans as much as the rest but they have a tendency to be excitedly loud which drives him crazy.

"What did you just get us into Hayes?" Cameron groans.

"You lot are going to be pawns in the greatest day of my life."
