[ MADDIE ]

"You're actually the best sister ever," Mackenzie praises. We were currently waiting for Hayes, his brother and his friend to come pick us up.

Yes, we are hanging out with the Griers and that other famous guy (I forget his name even though Mackenzie mentioned it 284833732737 times). No, I was not the one who agreed to it.

"I can't believe you got me into this," I mumbled in annoyance.

This happens to be all my sister's fault. I rather be chilling at the pool with my friends, who happen to be mad at me at the moment for not inviting to come along on this superb adventure.

When Hayes direct messaged me asking to hang out, I was taking a nap. But my wonderfully annoying sister, saw that he messaged me, and took it upon herself to message him back for me. That is how I ended up in this predicament. This is not an ideal situation but whatever. California is hot and I plan to take in as much as the sun as possible. Hopefully I'll get a tan so I look a little less translucent.

"Oh please, I know you're excited to see Hayes again," she claims giving me a suggestive wink. Yes, my 9 year old sister gave me a suggestive wink.

"Not exactly," I murmur. I honestly don't even care that he's "the Hayes Grier". Like I didn't even know who he was I met him, it's not a big deal that I'm seeing him again.

"Well I'm definitely excited to see Nash," Mackenzie announces. She continues to ramble on about Nash when there car pulls up. They park the car, then they all come out to meet us.

"Hi, you must be Nash, right?" I ask a boy with bright blue eyes. I'm pretty sure it's Nash but I had to ask because I wasn't fully sure.

"Yea and your Maddie. I know because Hayes makes me watch dance moms sometimes because he has an obsession with you," Nash whispers loud enough for Hayes to hear. Hayes starts repeatedly punching him in the arm.

"It's ok, my sister feels the same way about you except it's really creepy," I chuckle as I point at my little sister who stands there frozen in place. Her face and every other part of her body is completely frozen and she's not responding or reacting to anything.

"C'mon cutie," Nash says picking up my little sister and carrying her into his friend's car. Well Mackenzie has definitely died and gone to heaven.

"Hi," Hayes greets me shyly.

"Hey," I reply. "So where are you taking us?" I question him jokingly raising my eyebrow.

"I'll tell you when we get there now let's go," he tells me pointing to the car. I nod and we hop in.

"Hey,I'm Cameron," says the cute guy in the driver's seat.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Maddie," I reply giving him a little wave.

"Ah I know. Hayes goes on and-"

"Cam," Hayes warns interrupting him as is face turns tomato red. I just let out a little laugh making his face turn even more red.

"Santa Monica Pier," I exclaim. I turn to Hayes to see him smiling at me and I send him smile in return. I've always dreamed of going here and now I'm finally here.

"Someone looks excited," Hayes smirks. "Let's go," he demands grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the car as soon as it's parked.

We start walking to the pier, leaving Mackenzie, Nash and Cameron behind. I look down and notice he's still holding my hand.
