Jisung yelled as he struggled to keep one of the enemy wolves from overpowering him, though that in itself was a difficult task. They needed weapons. His eyes widened.

"Hyunjin!"

His mind reached for his friend, a single dot in a sea of them. His reply was almost immediate. "Yes!"

"Go to the cellar, get our silver weapons. We don't stand a chance without them." His eyes searched for his friend, and he finally found him as he dodged a wolf and made a break for the packhouse. He gritted his teeth as the wolf he was fighting made a move to run after him, only to be intercepted.

Changbin was already fighting like he'd been in the pack his whole life; he smiled softly at that before returning his attention to his fight. His arms strained under the weight, and he knew they definitely wouldn't make it much further without those weapons.

Hyunjin, I'm counting on you.

Hyunjin cursed as he looked over his shoulder. Five more wolves had taken the place of the one who'd originally been following him. Dammit! What the hell.

How had they gotten such high numbers so quickly?

He clenched his jaw as he ran faster; the advantage he'd gotten from his head start was quickly fading. Regardless of how ridiculously fast he was for a human, wolves were always faster.

He had to get to the cellar before they caught up to him, but that was easier said than done. The only advantage he had left was that he knew the layout of the packhouse – they didn't.

He scrounged his mind for any way he might lose them, or at least delay them. His eyes lit up; the common room. From there, there were so many different doors that led to different places.

It was close. He could make it. He turned down another hall as fast as he could, and the wolves chasing him slid forward, skidding before they quickly turned around to follow him.

He reached the common room door and opened it before slamming it shut. He fumbled with the bar that would lock it for a time; it was a precautionary measure Alpha Dongwook had taken, and how glad he was for it now.

He opened the door leading down into the old dungeons, quickly shrugging off his shirt and throwing it into the darkness. He closed the door, peering at the common room entrance nervously as weight was thrown against it.

Opening the second door, the one they used as a secret exit if the need ever arose and took off his shoes, his watch, any accessory he could, quickly discarding them.

He opened the third door and slammed it shut behind him just as the common room door splintered and sent a spray of wood flying. He crept as quietly as he could without losing any speed. He just needed more time.

The door behind him was thrown open, and he sniffed lightly; two wolves. Two wolves out of five had followed this trail. He loosed a quiet breath and nodded; he could deal with that.

He gave up trying to be quiet – he'd put enough distance between them, for now. He threw the door to the weapon's room open and grabbed the closest thing he could get his hands on – a spear.

He pivoted on his foot and launched it just as the first wolf emerged from the darkness. The second wolf skidded to a halt, obviously shocked that its comrade had fallen.

Hyunjin didn't give it any time to think, or even act. He picked up the second spear next to it. It hit its mark, too. He exhaled heavily, shoulders drooping; that was unnecessarily stressful.
