(Have I been reserving that picture for this specific chapter for a while? Yes.)
Minho could hardly believe what he was hearing. "Then... then what does that mean?" he whispered, wide eyes staring into Jisung's. Heat crept up the werewolf's cheeks as he turned to stare up at the ceiling.
"I-It means, um..." He sighed. "We have to become... legitimate Mates." His eyes shifted back towards Seungmin. "Was there anything else?"
The wizard's eyes lowered. "Yes, but... I wasn't able to read all of it before Felix attacked me. Do we still have the book?" He turned to Hyunsik, who shook his head. He'd tried to find it earlier, too, then.
As Jisung's eyes settled on him again, heat slithered up the back of Minho's neck. He had a feeling he knew what legitimate Mates meant. Oh my god. He bit his lip as he stared down at the floor. "Hyunsik, would you mind asking Felix if he did anything with the book? I don't think I can face him... right now, anyway."
Minho stared at him sadly, his heart aching for him. He'd been betrayed, too, but... it must have meant much more to Jisung. They'd known one another since they were children, and Felix was supposed to be loyal to him, though, admittedly, it might not have been his fault...
Jisung ran a hand through his hair as Hyunsik left the room. He approached Minho, somewhat awkwardly. "I need to go out for a couple of hours. I'll be back soon, okay?" Minho nodded, eyebrows furrowing slightly. Jisung kiss his forehead before he quickly left the room.
Minho couldn't help the insecurity that blossomed in his chest.

It really had been hours since he'd last seen Jisung, and although Minho tried his best to focus on the book he was reading, it was growing increasingly difficult. Not only was he embarrassed about having to do... whatever it was they'd have to do, he also couldn't help but feel that Jisung was upset about it.
With a sigh he leaned back against the bedframe, letting his book fall on his stomach, staring up at the blank ceiling. He perked up when the door opened, and in came Jisung. His eyes landed on Minho, and his cheeks turned pale pink.
It was kind of cute.
"Sorry it took me so long. I had to... pick something up." He lifted the small paper bag in his hand, before looking away, rubbing his neck. He crossed the room and sat down next to him, fumbling with the bag for a moment before he pulled out a small box.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, raising his eyes to meet Minho's. "I figured that... that since we're doing this by supernatural customs, that you might like to... to do it by human customs, too. Informally, obviously, but..." He popped open the box, and Minho's jaw dropped.
Inside the small box were two beautiful, yet simple, golden bands. He covered his face with his hands, partly to hide his blush, and partly to hide the tears that welled in his eyes. Jisung chuckled softly, reaching up with his free hand to bring it back down, holding it tightly in his. Minho laughed softly, desperately attempting to blink away his tears, but they didn't seem to want to budge.
"So, Lee Minho," Jisung said softly, a smile playing at his lips as he interlocked their fingers. "Do you take me, Han Jisung, as your unlawfully wedded husband, in sickness and health and all that other bullshit?"
Minho laughed and nodded. "Yeah – I... I do." He giggled again, staring down in awe as Jisung slid the ring onto his left ring-finger. He wasn't able to contain the smile that spread across his lips as he leaned forward and captured Jisung's lips with his own. Even though they pulled away, their foreheads were pressed together. "And do you, Han Jisung, take me, Lee Minho, as your unlawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health and all that other bullshit?" He chuckled again as Jisung's eyes lifted to the ceiling.
