"Now just relax. Let your mind go blank," Grace said with a gentle smile as she closed the top of the machine. The room was blazing hot, and honestly, I didn't even want to do this. I was just a kid, for crying out loud! But I did it all for my father's attention, to make him proud. He wanted me to spy on the project and report back every week. Why did I agree to this?

"This is amazing," I thought, excited.
"Okay, we're going to do some tests to check your Avatar. If everything's okay, we can take you outside," the scientist said.
I nodded, completing the simple tests they handed me, then they gave me a new outfit.
