personally i don't hate james as a character that much. he just was given shit writing and awful character development. on top of being two dimensional i understand why people hate him with a burning passion. if they didn't force him to be with lena he could still be a fun cool dude. i liked him and winn as crime fighting buds. when james had his story arc with getting powers i literally skipped through almost all of it, so boring. i almost missed the relationship between alex and kelly bc of that.

James opens the door without knocking. "Oh, am I... interrupting something." Lena is sitting on the desk breathing heavily with a faint layer of sweat. Her and Kara's hair are a bit frizzled. There is no mistaking the tension in the air, the humidity, and the closeness between the two women who have just pulled away from a kiss.
Lena speaks up. "Oh, no nothing." Lena clears her throat to think of something. "We were just having a conversation and Kara scheduled a visitation with Coville. He might be Kara's second lead." James looks around the room in suspicion. Kara adjusts her skirt down because it had ridden up her legs when Lena was straddling her in the chair.
Why is Lena behind Kara's desk? I feel like something else was going on here...
"Kara, what was your first lead?" James tries to mask himself in confidence to show off to his ex and current boss. Lena can see right through his fallacy, like she can see through most people. She regrets dating him, she was denying her sexuality for so long, and suppressing her feelings for Kara for what feels like much longer.
Kara reveals the new meaningful information about herself. "Myself. I made them in my sleep."
"I guess I'm missing something. How is that possible and why?" James is stumped. Before Kara can explain Lena tells James herself. "Kara is a God. The symbol is connected to Rao being resurrected in the form of herself." The scientist explains it with clean confidence, Kara is impressed.
"Uh, what?" James has never been so lost in a conversation. "There's no time to explain it all. Kara and I need to go to the prison for information." Kara grabs her bag and the two women get ready to leave.
"What were you two fighting about in here earlier?" James thinks all the signs of a hot encounter were them fighting. It doesn't click in his head that two women can be dating. "Fighting? We weren't fighting. Lena was just... talking to me... passionately about how much she loves this company." Obviously Kara doesn't sweat so it looks like Lena just went for a light jog. "Alright then. I'll see you ladies later." James is still unsure of what actually happened.
Lena and Kara leave CatCo and take a cab to the prison together, talking along the way.
Lena: So who is Coville?
Kara: He is this crazy man who started a cult worshipping me. He planted a bomb in a stadium and tried to 'bless' a bunch of people by having me save them all. Everyone who joined the cult was someone I saved, some way or another. He started it when I had saved my first plane. The day I revealed my presence in National City to the world. The day Supergirl came out.
Lena: Oh right I remember that. That's a very specific type of cult to start.
Kara: He is pretty dangerous, but in the cult leader type way, he was never violent. He just influenced his members to go into harms way to have me save them. He is respectful to my secret identity, and understood my wish to live amongst humans.
Lena: How did he find out?
Kara: I came to one of his meetings as a reporter. He instantly recognized me. He said he couldn't forget the face of a God.
