my entire story arc is completely made up and just my own fiction. i'm going out of the source material to make kara over powered and badass. it has nothing to do with the comics, i've created it in my head. this chapter also builds up lena's relationship with the new knowledge that kara is supergirl.

"What's up boss?" Kara casually talks to her sister in the DEO building.
Alex clears her throat. "It's Director Danvers to you."
"My bad, sorry." The two go into Alex's lab and begin the blood work. "Alright I'll be taking some more blood samples. Your blood from yesterday and today should be similar in development. Over night the sample changed a bit."
Kara sits in the lab chair. "Cool, cool." Alex turns up the Kryptonite percentage to sixty percent. "Woah not cool, not cool." Kara's veins turn slightly green. But she doesn't feel like her skin searing off, just very weak, achey, and drowsy.
"Just as I predicted!" Alex's hypothesis was correct once again as a result of her expertise on alien biology.
"Huh?" Kara lethargically replies.
"You have become slightly more resistant to our not so good friend, Kryptonite. And results are in from our little test from yesterday." Alex pulls out the needle within Kara's skin and begins explaining Kara's current state.
"Kara, your physiology is differing from that of your cousins. Your make up is changing and I'm not sure why. You are definitely different from Clark. I'm not sure how genetically different cousins are on Krypton but you two seem to have only a few things in common. There is evidence in that from defeating him in battle. You becoming Champion of Earth was a huge indicator that your biology isn't plain old Kryptonian. Your general speed capabilities, strength, and durability under Kryptonite outmatches him. There is so much more to look into though!" Kara is dumbfounded.
I'm different?
"I don't understand. What's so different? We were born on Krypton and we are cousins. What possibly could make me outperform him. He has two dozen years more of experience. The only thing different is that he was the first natural birth on Krypton for centuries." The Silver Kryptonite incident only made sense to Kara because he was under its influence, not because she was actually stronger. She has two and a half decades less of battle training, and experience. But the reason she won the was because she is stronger at a fundamental level.
Alex knows how difficult this news could be for Kara. Finding out you are different from someone you are related to makes you question you own background. "I'm not sure. There is much we need to find out, okay. Maybe him being naturally birthed has something to do with it, I don't know. But don't worry, I have more finds." Just as Alex predicted, Kara is becoming aggravated. "What finds? What's wrong with me."
"There is nothing wrong. It's what's changing in your bio-chemistry. While analyzing the data from your test I've concluded that your make up, Kara Zor-El, was built to venture out into space. Normal Kryptonian's including your own parents are reliant on oxygen. They can't live without it and a regulated atmosphere. Clark with powers can withstand high pressures and hold his breath much longer than the average human but he still will die without enough oxygen. He isn't invincible. Your vitals show something phenomenal, you didn't need oxygen. At all. All it needs is sunlight." This is a lot to take in for Kara. So many questions.
"So am I like a plant?" Kara says defensively with sarcasm. Kara isn't thinking straight and is becoming angry. Angry about being different, and outcasted once again. Her own relative is normal and she isn't. At the moment she's trying her best to keep it all in.
