John woke up to crickets and buzzing. He heard birds and cicadas.
"John, John!" Jakeryn tried to wake John up. He began to sit up.
"What happened? Why am I in a Jungle? John looked at his hand. The sword laid there next to him. He dropped it to realized that his hand was frozen where he'd been holding it.
"It's because of the potion. Your hyper sensitive to cold." John looked at him.
"And why are we in a Jungle?" John stood up picking the sword up as well.
"This is Erir. The Lost Jungle of the Lost realm. This is the only place in the realm that can become hot enough to burn through time. Speaking of heat, we need to go before that potion runs out." Jakeryn started through the Dense trees and John followed.
"That also why this, can cut holes through time." He handed John the rock. He touched it only to realize it was scorching hot. "That's what I used to save your teacher. After 30 minutes in the past, it will turn to Lava. So use it well!" John places the stone in his pocket and started slicing up the trees ahead. Jakeryn suddenly stopped.
"John did I ever tell you the story bout' the Prince and the Giant." John nodded. "How did it go?"
"Well there was a prince overcome with greed, who everyday searched for the portal to a land of freedom and strange creatures. He always made his men visit the sacred Jungle. Is that the Jungle were in now?" Jakeryn nodded. John heard growls in the bushes.
"Finish the story,"
"There... um... one day he was fed up with his men never coming back that he went in himself and the great sheep monster devoured him." John heard chuckling from the bush he drew the sword and asked:
"Is that creature it" Jakeryn nodded again. The creature in the bush began walking toward them. It stood 6 feet tall on all fours. It didn't look like a sheep at all, rather it was pink with tiffs off grey fur growing around. It's snout and eyes bulged out and its purples were bright white. It let out another chuckling noise. Jakeryn stood completely still. Johns face began to cover in water. John Lost grip on the sword. He was waiting for Jakeryn to say something, or anything, but he just stood there. The creature tipped it head side to side and snarled. It began to turn towards John. Jakeryn scooped up a branch and tossed it far in the other direction. The sheep monster turned it head. It began to walk towards the branch. Johns sweat ran down, causing the sword to slip through his hand. It clanked on the ground and the monster turned to looked at it. Jakeryn gave John a fearful look. Jakeryn reached in his bag causing ruffling noises. The monster charged at him. John picked up the sword and stabbed it through the eye. Jakeryn pulled out a strange looking flute. He blow into it and a strange noise came out.
"John cover your ears." Jakeryn Yelled. John did immediately and the sheep monster dropped dead. John unplugged his ears.
"Is it dead?" John asked. Jakeryn shook his head. He tip toed away and John followed.
"It's merely paralyzed." Jakeryn said once arriving at a good distance away. They traveled for quite a long time and John began to fatigue and feel hot.
"Jakeryn, Mr. Jakeryn I'm beginning to feel hot again, I think the potion is... is were off." John panted.
"Hang in there John, were almost there." Jakeryn told him.
"How long... how long have we been going?" John asked.
"About 6 hours. It looks dark because of the day cycles here. Days are 12 hours instead of 25."
"It's 24 Mr. Jakeryn." He chuckled. Jakeryn chuckled as well as they continued to walk. After 30 minutes John was getting extremely fatigued and hot.
"Sword!" Jakeryn said suddenly. John handed it to him. He sliced through a thin layer a vines to expose a hole in a rock.
"Climb through" They both climbed through the tunnel. After walking a little longer John snapped.
"Mr. Jakeryn, I can't go-" they stopped to hear squeaks.
"We're near the end." Jakeryn pointed to a light. They finally made it to the end of the long tunnel and fell down. Oh so skin turned bright red as the air turn frigid outside. Jakeryn took out a small pocket watch
"just in time." He gave John a blanket and for the first time, John looked out at the surroundings. It was a cliff above a beautiful forest and plains. The fields were full of strange looking creatures from the stories Jakeryn had told. There were birds around and dragons up in the sky. It was a land of beauty and mystery. Jakeryn and John ate there meals and looked at the view. After finishing Jakeryn pulled out a marked map. It had names from the book like Nabuto, Prenton, Aidia, Yorum, and Erir.
"We are here." Jakeryn point at the Erir Plains. "We need to get to here" He pointed at place labeled The castle of Prenton.
"Sir, are we about to travel into the place where that hammer was found, and" John gulped. "Where K-kamalon is?" Jakeryn nodded.
"Take a good look at the fields John. This is the last beautiful site you'll see around here. The rest will be stained with blood and bodies."
