John was sitting in bed. Thank goodness it was finally Saturday. John had been waiting for it for a week. And it was here. He clutched the pendant of destruction in his hands. He was so excited. He ran downstairs and grabbed the mail key. Then ran down to the mail box. He opened it up and... Nothing. Casey? No. He couldn't. Then why wasn't it here. He said it would. John stood there for a second. Could it have been lost? No. It was coming from Portland. What could have slowed it. Unless, it was never sent. He thought about this idea on the way home. He was very disappointed. Could he have been joking. But the pendant. Maybe a coincidence. He wanted to test it out but.... Could he, Should he. He walked home thinking about that. He finally was overwhelmed with curiosity that he pressed the little swirl on it. Nothing. A fake. No! It had to be real. He tried again. He fell to the floor. He looked down into a puddle at his reflection.
"Wait, A PUDDLE!" He starred up at. The sky. It was a dark swirl of black and blue. Lightening struck. John was so happy, he ran home. He arrived at the door and went in. He went to his room and starred out side. The storm was clearing. He held the pendant and closed his eyes and imagined a great storm. Lightning struck in the real world as it struck in his head. He opened his eyes. He directed all his thoughts at the lamppost. Then, it was hit with the biggest lightning bolt he'd ever seen. He starred outside. He controlled the storm. He could make it do what ever he wanted. Then he remembered the letter. He wondered if he could make it appear. Then, it did, And a voice boomed
"IM NOT FINISHED WRITING THAT!" John realized that the voice was coming from a man in a long cloak. Suddenly it was all gone in a puff of smoke. John waited. And at 12:00, the moment came. John was checking he mail for the fifth time today when he heard Max yell and scream in joy. He turned around and right in front of his nose was,

John grabbed the letter but it had dissepeared, and there stood Casey.
"What are you doing Marksi." He spat. "Oh is it charades. "
But before he could stop himself, John pulled out the pendant and lightning struck right behind him. Casey fell to the ground as another lightning bolt hit right beside him. Casey whimpered and bolted down the street as rain poured down on them all. John was free. Casey would never bother him again. But then as Casey ran in his door, Max went out. He was pulling the painted rock out and the smiled. "Well, ol' Jakeryn decided to let you in the trials" he Said as lightning struck beside him." Well you have a silly old pendant, I have this" he pointed at the Rock and the little hands moved. John looked at his watch. 12:45."That's impossible. It's... It's...
"Magic? Of course it is." John took out the pendant and pointed it at max. Flash! Max ran. Lightning had struck right in front of him.
