January 21. A Day John had waited for, for Months. After the November incident, Mr. Jakeryn had left the school. To replace him was one Mr. Thorghbern. A pale, skinny, dull man. Since then, John had resumed his Hate for school and today was the day it all didn't  matter, and all the F's Detentions, and  Principal visits would be wiped away by the Eagles  Trial.
John arrived at the address at four pm. Many people joined him after. The two Bricewin Brothers arrived. Stephanie Hartwigg, the most obnoxious girl in there school was there, and Max.
"Hey Marksi. I love your guts, but there really no need for wimps." Max whispered. John bit his lip. The Trials would begin, and he didn't want to confront Max if Jakeryn showed up. But he didn't. Hours passed. The kids sat at benches talking about mixed topics. John sat next to a blonde boy, about 14 years old.
After several hours, John knocked on the door. All the other kids gathered around. Nothing happened. They pressed the ears up to the door and listened. Nothing. After a while Adam Ede asked
"Anybody got anything of use?"
"Yeah! I got the most fabulous ring with a beautiful gem...." Started Stephanie Hartwigg, but Adam cut her off.
"Anything that could help break into this house."
"Wait! Let Stephanie Talk. Stephanie, what shape is the ring?" John Asked
"Well, this beautiful ring is a nice turquoise colour in the shape of a mountain."
"Let me see it" he grabbed the ring and ran towards the mail box. He stuck it in a bullet hole in the box. The mailbox door swung open, revealing a knife.
"Great job Marksi. You found a knife." Max said, but John was busy. He ran at the door and tried to pick the lock, but to no avail.  John was puzzled.
"There!" Said the blonde kid. He pointed at the telephone wires. John looked up at the house. The top floor window was open. He ran at the wires and cut a long line of wire. He wrapped some wire around a rock. And through it up at the roof. He Proceed to climb up with the others.  He climbed through the window and into the house.
"Well, hello." Mr. Jakeryn said stepping out of the shadows. " It seems you've solved the puzzle."
" That's the trials! Some stupid puzzle!" Max yelled in a rage.
" Yes." Jakeryn said calmly. "And sometimes your teacher will spring a dragon on you"
The room went silent. Mr. Jakeryn began to fade away and the lights dimmed. A roar came from outside.
"Dragon!" They all yelled. "Everyone down!" A dragon swooped through the roof.
"What the..." Max yelled but was cut off as the dragon landed on the house. It was green and blue and had thick scales. The kids screamed.
"Let's get out of here." Yelled John. They ran downstairs. The dragon crawl through the house.
"Ok! What are we gonna do?" Said John
" I gotta Staff."  Said Tom Bricewin " And I gotta cloak" Said Scott Bricewin. They both showed there two items.
"Yeah! And I've got a Rope." Said the blonde kid.
" We don't have much time but I have a plan. You... uh..." John said pointing at the blonde kid.
"Terrence." He said helpfully. "Yes! Terrence you hide by the stairs with your rope. Tom, give him your cloak." John said. Tom handed over his cloak and Terrence. He dighted the cloak and ran to the corner.
"When the dragon comes down, Wrap the rope around his neck." He explained as Terrence nodded.
"After he..." John continued but was cut off as the dragon fell through the ceiling.
"Everyone Down!" Scott yelled pointing his staff at the dragon. "Terrence!" Yelled John
"And Max!" Yelled Another kid. They were trapped by the dragon. It opened its jaws and a spark lit up in its mouth. It grew. Terrence wrapped the cloak around Max and him. The dragon roared and fire flew through its mouth like a leaf in the wind. It covered the two boys in a hot flaming blanket and then, it stopped. The dragon watched the pile of cloth and waited, and waited, and wait. The cloak moved as Max stepped towards the dragon. With his fiery red hair. He held up a rock with a crudely drawn clock on it. Terrence rushed out and the rope on the dragon. It snapped out of it and slashed Max to the ground. He bled out as Terrence pulled the Dragon with the rope. John ran up as the dragon came to its senses. He didn't know what to do. He looked at the knife. The handle read,
Wind blows, birds fly
A dragons death shall save our lives,
For I have kill the greatest beasts
And never told a lie.
