"Have you ever broken a rule before?" I ask. We're still standing by the makeshift bar just talk and asking random question.
He thinks for a moment before saying, "I have few times or more than that, I think of what for on most of them." He said looking like he in though of trying to remember what he rules he have broken before but then he turns his attention on, "what rules have you ever broken before?"
"No." I say without hesitation nor think about it because I haven't in my entire life broken a rule.
"Okay. How about ever lied about something to someone?"
I took a moment, even though they're only one lie, I did and that was until today telling dad I am out with Kendra and Mack. And I felt guilty for even lying to him for the things he's done for me for raising me on his own."Yeah, until today about where I'm supposed to be. And I never have before." I know that he wants to tell him more, but I couldn't, he probably thinks I have one of the parents that are stricken which is kind of true but also not just over protective that it. But there more to that I have to explain to why I have to lay. Because let face it, most people don't want to hang out with you because your dad is a detective and they assume things that you will narc on them. But I'm glad I Kendra and Mack stay on my side no matter what.
"What about you? Have you lied about something to someone?" I said before he could ask more why. I'll just let him think that I have a strict parent for now.
"Yeah, few times. Some were good where you can get way with something, but another time not so good.?"
"I would like to hear some of them sometimes."
"I can tell you some of it now."
"Really?" he nodded. "Okay, by all mean go ahead."
Tyler took one hand and start walking to the back of the house until we're outside where there few people out by the bonfire that someone has made. But we didn't go over there, instead we went to the patio chairs from a safe distance from the people by the bonfire but also close to the door to the house. They're a little bit of light from the yard light but not bright enough to see well throughout the whole backyard, only about half of the yard and that's it..
"Okay, this one time..." then he starts telling some of the things that he lied about a got into trouble with some of his friends back home before moving away to here.
I was listening to Tyler for the last thirty minutes and I'm starting to get cold from sitting out here. I should of brought a jacket with I didn't know I was outside listening to him talking about this long, but like hearing some of the things he has to say, so it's kind of worth, I may regret but oh well that's on me for not bring a jacket.
"And then there this one time I..." he look over to me, that I shiver littler from the cold wind blowing. "Did you bring a jacket? I could go get it for you?"
"No, I forgot to get one. I am fine, it's not that cold anyway, thanks though."
"Here you can wear mine." he took his black leather jacket off and put it around my shoulders/.
"No, really I am fine."
I try to take the jacket off and give back to him, but he put a hand up. "I be fine. The coldness never really bothers that much anyway."
"You, surely, you are fine?" I ask making sure that he really fine and not just saying that for my benefit.
"I'm 100% sure." he said, giving a smile telling that he really is fine.
"Okay." I put the jacket back on. And the smell of his cologne greets me. It smells like rosewood or rosemary with a hint of musk wood smell to it
"I'll be back, I gonna get something to drink. You want any?"
