CRASH!
"...Oops"
You muttered, cringing as you looked at the pile of plates that had fallen to the ground, broken ceramic shattered at your feet glinting dangerously.
Slowly, you sighed and began to pick up some of the larger pieces, whilst scanning the kitchen area for a broom, or something to sweep the smaller shards away with. Unfortunately for you, you had just moved into a new apartment, so cleaning supplies were packed away somewhere, probably mislabeled.
It was no secret that you were clumsy, but you sometimes felt as if you were cursed to break everything, and often injure yourself in the process.
A sharp stab of pain halted your train of thought and you looked down to the source, a long jagged cut on your index finger. Muttering under your breath you cursed your luck, knowing that the cut was pretty deep and your first aid kit was also packed away.
"Guess it's time for a trip to the doctor's"
* * *
The doctor's office was small and cosy, but very clean and surprisingly busy. Feeling a little intimidated you approached the front desk, hoping not to bleed on their nice tile floor.
"Welcome to (town name) doctor's office, how may I help you?" A tired looking Asian woman greeted you, seemingly swamped by her work. You felt like you were being a burden, but that was just the way you were, as your parents had brought you up as a humble and caring young woman.
"I've uhm..managed to cut myself and I think I might need stitches" You explained nervously, holding up the afflicted finger whilst cradling a hand underneath to catch the small drops of blood that fell. You hadn't been so lucky when you had to drive to the doctor's, and you let out a small sigh when you thought of what the interior of your car must look like.
"Okay." She replied, eyeing your finger cautiously, whilst checking the floor for blood. You cringed slightly. "Can I get your name and details for your medical files?"
You complied, ignoring the throbbing from your finger. " (Y/N) (L/N)" You paused so that she could type it in, before giving her the rest of the details. Inside you were feeling a little self conscious, you knew you didn't look like the locals who were waiting in the lobby, and you could feel their curious gaze lingering on you. You were never one for the spotlight and being so new made you become a little uncomfortable.
Once the receptionist had located your file, she gestured to a seat and told you to stay put, not looking away from her computer.
'A bit rude...but I suppose she was just busy.' You thought to yourself, hoping this wouldn't take too long. The blood had stained your hand and you didn't want it to start dripping onto the floor. You settled down and tried to ignore the stares of the locals.
"(Y/N) (L/N)?" A sweet voice called.
You looked up, snapped out of your stupor and stood, ready to follow the young doctor. She seemed to be around 26 if you had to guess, so fresh out of medical school, which you admired because boy did you find science difficult in high school. Her medium brown hair was tied back in a loose bun, and her honey coloured eyes seemed warm and caring. Even through her work clothes you could tell she was fit, and her legs...
"Follow me please" She said, a cheeky smile on her lips.
You shook your head lightly, unsure of what just happened, and followed after her. 'Did I seriously just check her out, she must think I'm a creep!' You scolded yourself.
You walked down a small corridor to a room that had the initials "T. L". She held the door open then gestured for you to enter.
"You might want to wash your hands in that sink over there so I can look properly, then just take a seat over there" She instructed. You did as you were told, and waited for her to come over, as she busied herself with some medical equipment.
