Revenge

It had been two days since the incident with Jaune and Pyrrha in their room. They hadn't seen Velvet since.

Whether she was stressed, jealous or had given up, no one knew. But Pyrrha was nervous; she knew that the girl was planning something big while she was away.

She was terrified to think what.

Jaune had stayed obliviously optimistic in her absence, but this was only a front. He knew just as well as the others that the rabbit was scheming something.

He was just trying not to think about it, seeing as it will all be directed at him.

But alas, she was his friend, and he wanted to see if she was ok. So Jaune went on a little expedition around Beacon to find her.

It only took him all of his Sunday, but Jaune eventually found her holed up in her room. The rest of her team was absent, so when he knocked on the door, she let him in without hesitation.

"Hey Velvet, long time no see." Jaune always had a knack for awkward greetings. "G-good afternoon Jaune, what brings you here?" She was very hesitant around him.

"W-well…" He started, not quite sure how to say that he was searching for her for the better part of three hours. "I was wondering how you were doing, I haven't seen you in days."

Velvet seemed unaffected by the worry he showed that usually would have made her blush. "Thank you for your concern, I'm fine. Was there anything else?" Jaune was disturbed by how little emotion she seemed to be showing, it was unnerving.

"Uuhh… what have you been up to?" Jaune had no idea how to go about this, she was so distant. When she sighed before answering, Jaune realized that his presence was a burden.

It hurt slightly.

"I haven't been doing anything these last few days Jaune. Was there anything else?" Jaune shook his head and left the room immediately.

'Is she that upset with me?' Jaune wondered. 'I need to find a way to make it up to her.' With nothing else to do that day, Jaune retired to his room, preparing himself for the massive day he didn't yet know he would have tomorrow.

As was the case with every school-goer, Jaune had a distinct lack of care for Mondays, especially their mornings. So as he trudged into the cafeteria for some breakfast that morning, his disgruntled mind took a moment to comprehend what lay before him.

Velvet was sitting at their table smiling with the rest of the group.

His sour mood brightened in a heart-beat as he ran towards the table at full tilt to sit next to the Faunus, he didn't even grab any food.

"Hey Velvet, how are you?" Everyone was pretty surprised by his abrupt entry, but soon forgot about it when they noticed his massive smile. None of them had seen one like it in weeks.

It made Pyrrha very wary of what Jaune had done while he was out yesterday.

When Velvet turned to him and flashed him a dazzling smile, his own tripled in size. "I'm very glad to be back Jaune, how are you?" His smile somehow became even bigger. "Great now that you're here, where were you the past couple of days?"

When he saw Velvets smile falter slightly, his own mirrored her movements, but it perked right back up when she saw the look in his eyes. "I've been planning…" Jaunes curiosity got the best of him. "Planning what?" He asked.

Velvets smile turned predatory. "Planning the best way to go about this." Jaune was still confused. "Go about wha-" His sentence was interrupted when Velvet leaned closer to him and pressed her lips against his own, sparks shot through his body at the contact.
