Elizabeth's POV

"No Cheyanne Grayson is not here I told you already Parker is out for the weekend with my dad," I said to my best friend over the phone

"Dang he is coming home before Monday right?" She asked extremely hopeful

"Yeah but that doesn't mean Grayson is coming over" I rolled my eyes and sat on my bed

"I just don't understand what you see in him," I said judging her taste

"He's hot Elizabeth even you can admit plus he seems nice" she tried to reason with me while I could hear her very loudly chewing gum on the other side of the phone

"No he isn't and I promise I'll tell you when he's over," I told her almost upset over the fact she would only come over when my brother and Grayson were home. Grayson was cute I guess but I just never thought of him like that sure he played his sports but he's been around for quite a few years I hardly notice him now that he's over half the day every day in a way he's like a second brother when you think about it Parker always would try to separate me from his friends as he assumed I was much younger than him even though we're only a year apart but since he's graduating and I'm not it seems like a huge gap. I finished my phone call with Cheyanne and set it on my bedside counter. I'll admit I was well off my dad runs his own successful real estate business and we get by fairly easily but with money and work comes less attention on Parker and I. We're my parents only kids and they bought us our own little apartment by school which we share they claim it was for us to bond and not be late but we all know the real reason was it was easier for them when they force us to be in charge of everything rather than burden them with literally anything. It was Saturday today and dad and Parker wouldn't be home till at least tomorrow night they decided that Parker needed to learn all the ropes for when the business gets passed down to him but in this case, it's something Parker actually likes so if it makes him happy it makes me happy except when I have to be alone in the house where my anxiety peaks and I freak out at every single noise. I have a lot of friends but none who would want to come over on a Saturday when all the parties are happening and Cheyanne doesn't leave her room unless its school or Grayson related. So, for now, I'm alone just waiting for tomorrow.

It was almost 9 and I was watching Netflix on my laptop well aware of my surroundings and I double-checked the locks three times. I got comfortable but I thought about it again did I lock the top lock which in the back of my head I knew I did but I had to check again I got up and walked to the door with my phone's flashlight and sure enough it was locked but then I heard a loud creak I froze and my heart sank I ran to the bathroom and locked myself in. I quickly dialed in Parkers number

"What Elizabeth it's late?" Parker groaned

"It's only 9" I whispered

"Why are you whispering you're alone in the apartment it's not like anybody is there" he laughed

"Parker I don't think I'm alone" I whispered

"What why?" He asked his tone changed from playful to serious I started to pant when I heard the noise again

"I heard it again Park someones here," I said starting to cry

"Elizabeth what did you hear?" He asked again this time calmer

"Like a clanging noise like maybe some metal" I said through my sobs

"Jesus Liz it's just the sink it happens all the time you'll need to fix it just look up a tutorial or call Grayson" Parker laughed

"Parker are you sure also why haven't I heard it if it always happens?" I asked

"Probably because you pretend nothings happening so I deal with it and yes I'm sure if there is a murderer in the house call 911 next time okay I gotta go," he said and hung up without letting me say goodbye. I slowly creaked open the door and walked over to the kitchen sink and sure enough spot on that's where the noise was coming from. I turned on the light and opened the door in front of the sink pipes Parker left a couple of tools there I assumed he used to do his handyman stuff and found a pincher metal thingy and used it to hit the pipe gently as I couldn't find a video on YouTube when I tried to describe the noise apparently it doesn't work like that. I found a way to hook the pincher on the pipe and I did something that made it start to leak I panicked and managed to tighten it up but it continued to slowly drip. I groaned and pulled out my phone and called Grayson's number I got from when my brother went to the fair and Parkers' phone got stolen so I had to text Grayson when to pick me up. He picked up after a few rings and a blast of loud music poured out into my ears I pulled the phone away and winced
