Jennie's POV

When the call had gone to voicemail, I looked back at Lisa, who was seemingly frustrated as she ran a hand through her hair, looking angry at me.

Why me?

She was about to say something, but the ringing started up again, and I fumbled to pick up my phone at the same time she did. She growled at me. "Your boyfriend is calling."

"He's not, and I don't care." I told her, my voice was so shaky it was hardly believable. "I'm not going to answer it."

"Why not?"

I wanted to yell at her for asking me that question when she clearly already knew it. But I shook my head in silence instead. My life was in shambles right now, as evidenced by the way I sat on her lap. Lisa Manoban's lap!

It was hardly believable that I could easily succumb to this.

"You know why." I told her.

"I really don't." She scoffed, and I finally moved off of her lap, walking over to where I left my jacket—scratch that, her leather jacket. "Here you are saying that you're not fully broken up because you haven't talked to him yet, but here he was calling you, giving you the perfect opportunity, and you don't even answer it."

I sighed. "And tell him what? That I saw him with two other girls on Friday, and now I've just been straddling your lap while making out with you?"

My voice rose slightly at the end, but I was too exhausted to generate anger. Lisa didn't get how I felt, and she never would, so there was really no use trying to explain it to her.

"I don't think so." I shook my head. "I need to talk to him on my own time, not here, not now, after just being in your bed."

"Not like we did anything." She mumbled, but I ignored her. I picked up the jacket and placed it on the couch, while Lisa watched me with a stressed-out expression.

And when I was about to grab my phone, I realized it was still on the bed. My phone then buzzed, indicating that a text message was on its way.

Lisa and I stared at each other for a few seconds before we both lunged for the device. Unfortunately, because she still sat on the bed, I didn't make it. She grabbed it fast, looking angry as she read the message.

"Lisa..." My heart was racing a mile a minute, I said quietly.

I wanted to know what Kai had to say, but at the same time I didn't want to because it could change my mood entirely.

She never met my eyes as she read the text aloud with a mocking tone. "Sweetheart, please pick up the phone. I'm getting worried. You're not still with Lisa, are you? Where are you? I'm at your home, waiting for you."

Now she was staring at me, fire dancing behind her eyes. She tossed my phone back on the bed and got up, grabbing her keys and jacket.

I swallowed hard. "What are you doing?"

"What do you think?" She snapped. "I'm taking you to your fucking home because I don't give a shit anymore. You're naive and stubborn as hell, and I don't have time for that."

I bit my lips as I felt a lump in my throat grow excessively. It became slightly harder to breathe.

"I didn't-"
