Jason Kim's POV
"Hello."
"Uh," She cleared her throat. "Hi, Mr. Kim, is Jennie there?"
"Lisa?" I questioned it, though I knew it was her.
"Where's Jennie? Is she okay? Is she hurt?" She asked, her voice becoming louder and seemingly panicked.
"Jennie is fine." I calmly stated.
"Good." She seemed relieved. Deep down, I knew that she cared. "Um, so why exactly are you answering Jennie's phone?"
"Look, Lisa." My voice was stern and hardly sympathetic. "You seem like a nice person, really, you do, but-"
"But what?" She cut, and I knew she was trying not to become angry and to be as calm as she could.
"-I know people like you, and I don't want that for my daughter."
"People like me?" She asked in disbelief. "Like what exactly, sir?
I took a deep breath. It was gonna be hard. "All I'm trying to say, Lisa, is that I don't appreciate my daughter sneaking off with you. I don't take disrespect very well. Before you came to town, my daughter didn't do things like this. She didn't do much other than what she was taught. And now that's all changed. Why is that? "Is it because of Kai and his unfaithfulness, or is it because of you?"
"What are you trying to say?" She rasped, clearly lost her calm.
"I want you to stay away from my daughter, Lisa." I cut straight to the point.
"Mister Kim," She croaked, seemingly holding back every emotion, not wanting to disrespect me, and I did appreciate it. "You don't understand," And wow, she had guts!
"This is not a suggestion." I reiterated much more sternly. "I will not allow you to see my daughter anymore. That is all."
"That-" I hung up.
I closed my eyes, my finger still hovering over the end button as I let out a deep breath.
I couldn't believe I just did that.
"Jason?" My sweet wife's voice filtered through my foggy mind and I opened my eyes. She was standing in front of me with worried eyes. "Are you okay?"
"I'm just trying to protect her." I muttered, and she tilted her head to the side before looking down at the object in my hand.
"You called Lisa?" She was perplexed, not angry.
" had to." I hissed, tossing the phone down to the counter. "This isn't like her, Juhyun"
"She's a teenager." She trying to defend our daughter, eyebrows furrowed.
"She was my daughter before that, and she is still mine." I clarified. "I have the right to want to keep her safe"
"Yes, you do." She agreed, and I walked towards the sink, running both my hands through my hair. "But don't you think we should've discussed this first? I am her mother."
