Jennie's POV
I needed to leave this place as soon as possible.
"I just can't believe you actually did it, Jennie." Nancy went on. "I want to cry and celebrate all at the same time."
"Me too." Chaeyoung chimed in.
"That's great." I said, and an idea popped into my head since it seemed to be taking forever to get outside. "Why don't we go get some ice cream for the special occasion?"
Chaeyoung's eyes widened. "That's a great idea, babe. I could use some good, sweet goodness."
I nodded, and Nancy agreed. "Let's go, then."
"Okay." Nancy smiled, and we started walking a little faster, but luck wasn't on my side—ever. I thought I had chosen a good route to ensure that neither Chaeyoung nor Nancy would see Lisa or Bambam, but somehow they still managed to spot them.
I died a little inside.
"Hey, look, it's Lisa." Chaeyoung said loudly. "And Bambam." She added, and turned completelly to their table, halting out progress to the exit.
I looked away from Lisa because I knew that at any moment she would discover us as well. I didn't want to see the way she would react.
"Let's go over there." Nancy suggested, and I walked faster to catch up with her.
"I don't know if that's a good idea." I tried to convince her to leave the guys alone. "They seem busy."
She ignored me, of course, and she even acted as if I were a wind.
"Hey." Nancy and Chaeyoung greeted them. They seemed to know the others as well, because the two girls smiled and stood up to hug them. I stood awkwardly outside of the group, clasping my hands in front of my body.
"Jennie." Nancy called out, and Lisa finally took notice of my presence. "Get over here."
I saw the look in her eyes; I saw how shocked she was to see me, despite how she tried to mask it. I could sense that she wasn't expecting to be found by me, with two girls, or with this group of people. I had to look away from her burning gaze, and when I did, I just happened to let it fall on the two girls.
I didn't know them, and I doubt they went to our school, but they definitely didn't look conservative. Like Lisa, they wore leather jackets and low-cut tops. They also had ripped jeans on; it was almost as if they were part of a motorcycle gang.
I swallowed harshly, but forced down my pride and took hesitant steps over them. I had so many questions to ask her that it quite literally impaired my judgment. I tried my hardest to ignore the raging war in my stomach and the swirling feeling in it.
"Hi." I decided to be polite and held my hand up in some sort of stationary wave.
The girls smiled back, slightly surprising me with how pleasant they appeared.
"Hey." One of the black-haired girls smiled. "I'm Lia."
"And I'm Yeji." The other one, with fierce eyes, greeted me.
I started to feel slightly bad about how I thought of them from my first impression, but I didn't know how else to react when seeing them with Lisa and wearing leather jackets.
"I'm Jennie." I smiled slightly, still a little nervous about the entire thing. And the fact that Lisa had yet to say anything to me also put me on edge.
