Chapter Four: Surprise

Bzzz-bzzz Bzzz-bzzz. "What is that?" you hear Riley saying. You look at your phone and notice you have lost a call from Matty. "I think Matty needs us, or at least me..." Riley looks at you with an annoyed face "Sorry if I woke you up, Riley" you try to apologize. "No problem she also called me; seems we have a new mission at..." she looks at the screen of the phone "5.30". "Fantastic! Don't you agree?" you say ironically.
You get ready in few minutes and take the car; you both agree you needed some coffee so you stop at a caffe for a take away.
Now you're at the Phoenix again... It seems like no one is in the building.
"Sorry for waking you up so early... But I need you all right now. We have a really important mission. You will work in two groups: Mac, Riley you two will go to Washington to rescue and keep safe this man" she shows the photo of a man in suit. "While y/n and Jack will stop this group of terrorist that want to attack the man's company causing big problems." You nod and follow the rest of the instructions.

You and Jack had some problems with the squad, but finally managed to halt it.
"Like old times... You and I against the others" Jack tells you "Well, to be exact we worked only once in a team together... But it's always funny with you, Jack" "Hey little genius, I'm always here for you... Yesterday I saw you were a bit upset, how are you feeling today?" "Better, thanks" you smile.
You're finally free. Well it's quite late but all the work is done. You exit the Phoenix HQ and Mac stops you. "Hey, I heard that you and Jack made a great job out there" he says with a big smile "Thank you, it was a bit hard at the beginning, but then we succeeded. What about you?" you gently ask " We had problems, too... The man was in a big trouble and have no glue to come with us, but then he surrended." he explains. You're searching for your car keys when you feel Mac's hand on your shoulder." Do you remember that surprise I promised you?" "Yes, why?" "Well... This evening, 9.00 pm I'll pick you up at yours. Ok?" you hide your face, which is getting red "So that's a date?" you both laugh "I guess so" Mac answers.
8 pm. "Riley have you seen my phone?" you have been looking for it for about ten minutes "Yes, it's here, why?" Sure, on the coffe table. How could I have not seen it? "Y/n, is it all right? You look a bit nervous." the girl asks with a concerned face "No, definitely not. I'm in a hurry because I have to go on a date... I'd say after a while!" Riley starts laughing "I don't think Mac will care much about your make up or anything like that..." "Wait wait wait... How do you know it's Mac??" "He might have told me something during the mission". Ok...
Driiiin. It's Mac. Am I ready? No, I will have certainly forgot something... "I'm coming" you shout; as you open the door you see Mac in a blue skinny T-shirt and a jeans holding a bouquet of y/f/c roses. You, instead, are wearing a short dress, one of those that you wear once in all your life. "For you Milady" Mac gives you the bunch of flowers. You blush a bit and thank him.
You're now on the car, Mac is driving. In the vehicle there's a deep silent, you must do something... "So where are you taking me??" "Ah ah, I'm not telling you. Told you it's a surprise, right? Anyway we're arrived". As you get out of the car you see a big field with an enormous screen "An outdoor cinema!!" you shout showing a big smile. "You told me you love it..." you look at the man and nod.
The film is The last song (one of your favourite movies); it starts and at one point you feel something falling into your hair "Mac, stop it!" He giggles and keep throwing you popcorn. You turn to face him and he stops "I told you to..." your lips touch softly his. Is that a dream? There are no words just silence. Then an I love you breaks it. "I love you, too.
