Chapter "13"- Friday

Maki's POV 

"I'm leaving." I look back at my parents.. Well.. they're at work. Why do I even bother. 

"Have a good day in school..." I say to myself. I understand that my parents are very busy and all, but.. What am I even trying to say at this point? Whatever! 

I lock the front doors and of course I try to open it. Of course.. it doesn't work, but I have to make sure. My front gate has a automatic locking system. Can only be opened from the house or a button which I do have with my house keys. 

Soon I'll have my car keys attach to this. I don't expect I really ugly run downed car, but I don't want the best either. Something nice looking yet not too expensive. I.. I really don't like the attention- 

"Maki-chan~!" Oh! I forgot that Omine was waiting for me. "Maki-chan? You're blushing?" 

"Ahem.. I was thinking about stuff."

"Ehhh? Is it Haruko? He is good looking." 

"Annddd I'm not interested." Open the gate and close the gate. Just let technology do it's job. I hear the gate locking itself sooo I'm good to go. 

"So what are you thinking about then?"

"Nothing."

"So your face turns red.. when you eat tomatoes for breakfast!" 

"What?! No!" How did Omine know?! I mean.. "No more questions."

"Okay.. No more questions, although.. I do have one last question."

"Fine.. spill it." 

"You know what day is it today, Maki-chan?"

"Friday, meaning I get to sleep in and wake up a tad bit late."

"That's.. not entirely right, Maki-chan, but today is Friday the 13th! Also know as chapter "13" and in this storyline we're in the month October." 

"Okay..." 

"Don't look at me. Look at the guy behind the screen writing this-"

"Typing.." I roll my eyes. Is it really.. Friday the 13th? 

"And.. umm- Have anything misfortune brought upon you.. yet?" Omine shows me her bandaid. "I accidentally cut myself while I was making my own lunch. It's a shallow cut so it should be fine." 

"Be more careful next time."

"oh you know me Maki-chan! I can cook! I was very careful, but I think it's just bad luck." 

"I don't believe in those kinds of stuff. Friday the 13th is nothing but another day to get passed by." 

"Sheesh Maki-chan. I had a good feeling you would say that and I bet you didn't expect me to believe in stuff like this either."

"And you'd be correct. Why do you believe in.. bad omens and luck?" I look at Omine. She just smiles at me. 

"I was lucky to have you has a friend. That's all." 

"H-Huh?!" Now that's one strange answer, Omine. 

"Do you think.. I would look good in a Otonokizaka uniform?" 

"W-what's this about?"

"Maki." 

"U-umm.." She's.. she does look cute. "I-I'll say it once Omine.. you'll look cute in the uniform-"

"And you'll look beautiful!" I can feel her poking my nose. "I.. I need to talk to you after school."

"w-what about lunch-"

"See ya!" Omine runs off. It's strange.. she doesn't act like this. 

She has way too much energy today. Usually we would talk about other stuff.. not something like if we look good in a school uniform. I really wanted to go to a private school, but papa wants me to go to Otonokizaka to make friends... Mama used to go there as well and.. I just wanted to go to a private school.
