Madeline was sobbing as the three of you walked through the grey-themed carnival. She tried keeping the crying as quiet as possible, her arms drawn to cover her mouth as you and (B/F) walked around the grounds.

"Right, I don't... I can't believe what happened." (B/F) said, turning to face you two, "But whatever happened... We need to stay together. We need to find Lucas before something back happens to him as well."

You nodded, taking a hold of Madeline's arm lightly, "We won't go near any other rides, okay?"

"O-Okay..." She sniffed, wiping her face with her free hand, "I-I just... Wh-What was that...?"

"A sort of death trap by the looks of it." You frowned, before scanning the area, "I guess it's a sort of warning to trespassers."

"We shouldn't have come..." The blonde haired girl's voice shook again, she was nearly in tears again, "I-I said we shouldn't... A-And now Connor i-is..."

"Shh..." (B/F) turned to her, before pulling her into a hug, "I... I don't know what to say, but right now we need to focus on finding Lucas and getting out of here alive. Once we're home we can mourn him, okay?"

"O-Okay..."

"Now lets find Lucas."

All three of you nodded, before setting off through the old, deserted carnival. As you looked for your friend, you couldn't help but get the feeling that you were being watched. A shiver went up your spine and you spun around. No one was there, the tattered rags of some of the stall blowing in the wind.

You huffed, before returning to the other two; they had just reached the entrance of the large amusement park.

"Well at least we know our way back..." (B/F) sighed, rubbing her head, "But we're no closer to finding Lucas."

"Should we call out to him?" Madeline asked, eyeing the exit as if about to sprint.

"That could work." You nodded, "Let's try that."

And so you three walked around the entrance, calling out your friend's name. Your voices echoed throughout the dusty park, the only response you got was the wind flowing gently through the worn-down rides and ripped up stalls.

Maybe Lucas hadn't gone through the park at all. You stopped calling out, scratching your head; he had disappeared not long after you had all entered the carnival, maybe he ditched you?

It was a reasonable thought, but you weren't convinced he would do that, after all he had insisted you check the place out. Unless it was a prank to scare you guys and laugh at you when you returned home. Except he wouldn't know what happened until after you left.

But as you thought of the possibilities, the wind started to pick up. A metallic scent filled your nose and you shuddered. Blood. The other two eventually stopped calling out, Madeline already covering her nose and looking sick.

They smelt it too.

"Do you think...?"

"No, that isn't him." You shook your head, but even (B/F) gave you a worried look.

"It could be... This place is dangerous." She said, before walking forward, "Let's follow the smell, he may just be injured."

"I hope so..." The fragile blonde held her hands together, following your friend.

You sighed, before agreeing and walking after them. They had a point; he could just be injured and may even need your help. Right?

Someone was watching you again.

You shook your head, checking your surroundings as you hurried after the other two; whoever was watching you was good at hiding. It could even be Lucas, hidden from sight and bleeding, unable to talk from the pain or lack of energy. He could be staring you in the back of the head now, begging for you to turn around and find him.

So you did.

Nothing was there, just the entrance to the park, large metal poles twisted into a welcome sign that looked ominous and almost taunting. Something shone near the poles, like a silver coin, but it was gone in a flash.

You blinked, before rubbing your eyes and jogging after your remaining friends. The two had stopped in front of the carousal, looking like statues. You glanced at them, before picking up on the horror in their eyes.

Why were they so horrified?

The carousal had that answer. When you turned your (e/c) gaze back to the childish ride, you froze up as much as they did.

Blood dripped from all the seats, something dark and squishy looking sat on a once white horse. In a sled there was a dark shape, it looked like a slumped body. You were the first to walk over to it, recognising the shoe that stuck out from the ride as Lucas'.

Your stomach twisted as the rest of the body came into view. His stomach and chest had been ripped open, his innards pulled out and all over the ride. His intestines were rapped around a baby blue seahorse, the creature looked almost sad at it's make-shift scarf.

His stomach had been split and stretched over the saddle of another horse, along with some acidic looking liquid that ran down the horse's body. You walked over to the squishy object from before and recognised it as a liver; it startled you, making you fall back.

And bump into a bird. The large yellow animal gave a rusty squeak as it moved under your weight, it's opened beak making it look as if it was screaming.

Which is what you did when you saw what it was holding in that very same beak.

A head.

No.

Lucas' head.

"What is it?" You head (B/F/N) call out, she sounded like she was upset or sick, it was hard to tell.

"I-I..." You covered your mouth, bile starting to rise in your throat, "I found..."

"Lucas?"

You jumped, falling off the ride. Who was that?

"(Y/N)?" Madeline walked over to you, helping you to your feet, "Are you okay?"

"I, I thought I heard..."

"You heard nothing."

"Heard what?"

A giggle filled your ears and you covered them, "Can't you hear that?"

"Hear what?" (B/F) asked, tilting their head at you, "It's as silent as a graveyard."

"Then who is giggling like a mad-man?" You asked.

The high-pitched laughter turned to cackling and you fell to your knees. It felt like your head was going to explode. What was happening?

"(Y/N)!" The two people followed you down, grabbing onto your body in case you passed out.

Finally, the evil laughter started to fade, a whisper of a 'goodbye for now' from the strange voice being the last thing you heard before Madeline let out a tremendous scream.

She had finally seen Lucas' head.

But you felt too lightheaded to care, to flinch. Instead, your eyes rolled back as the silent laughter finally faded from your mind, and everything went black.
