After looking through files for what seemed like hours I only had one more drawer to look through. So far I had found nothing to help me locate where my father had gone to after he left this house.

Sitting on my knees in front of the cabinet I reached to pull out a file in the bottom drawer. I paused when I got chills up the back of my neck.

Something isn't right

I looked around, my heart beat increasing as my fear rose out of nowhere. I felt like something was watching me. I craned my neck to look out of the doorway and saw nothing.

There is nothing there chill out. Get back to work.

I shook my head willing the chills to disappear and went back to the file. Before my fingers could make contact I was yanked back by my hair.

Screaming, I looked up at the person who was dragging me across the carpet.

I stopped mid-scream, my mouth open in horror.

My father smiled down at me, an evil smile with his decaying teeth, unkempt hair and beady eyes.

A single tear slipped out of my eye as I was frozen in pure fear.

"No." was the only word that escaped out of my mouth before my dad pulled me up by  my hair again and slapped his hand over my mouth, covering it and my nose with a cloth. I tried to resist breathing in but eventually had no choice. The chemically scent filled my nostrils and lungs.

I pushed against the drug-induced fog trying to keep my eyes open and my mind alert, fighting back as best I could against his furious grip on me.

My efforts were futile... the world slipped away from me and the last thing I saw through the black was my fathers menacing grin coming closer and closer.
