it was now friday, and ava has yet to see george. she grew progressively more worried that she would never seen him again. she began to brainstorm all the things she would have to do, if she grew the confidence to try and find him. she waited patiently for jimmy, as she was the first one outside. she then felt fingers poke her sides harshly. she yelped, turning around to see none other than jimmy nicol.

"that hurt, you a-hole!" she exclaimed, punching his arm lightly.

he grabbed his arm.

"well, that hurt!" he retorted, referring to her punch.

she giggled a bit.

"well, that's what you get." she murmured.

"hey! be nicer to me, i'm sure you were way nicer to george!" he retorted.

ava blushed, stirring slightly.

"no!" she denied.

"hey, when is that dude gonna show up anyways? i think mrs. nicks was looking around for him..." he questioned.

she shrugged, trying to seem unbothered.

"i-i don't know. frankly, i don't care." she lied viciously.

ava could feel herself becoming a different person without him, but she didn't want to accept that.

"oh. so you don't like him?" jimmy asked, his eyes looking excited.

she looked up at him, proudly nodding. she didn't know what came over her. maybe it was the frustration and sadness from not seeing george, the blindness of ignorance that jimmy enabled her of. whatever it was, it didn't stop herself for still having feelings for george. she was just a strong liar.

"well then. that's.. uh, good?" jimmy celebrated with confusion.

she giggled.

"it's nothing, really. not bad or good, i guess." ava remarked.

they had made it to their school.

"hey, so if you're not still waiting on george - " jimmy started, which earned a scoff from ava.

"maybe we could go out or something..? nothing - uh, weird.. just like to dinner.. er, not like that!-" jimmy invited awkwardly.

ava laughed.

"relax, i get it. i wish i could, but my mom needs me home to clean the house for her. my mom and dad are going out of town for the weekend." she explained, rejecting politely.

he smiled widely.

"brilliant! i could just come over then, there won't be a problem with that. unless..?" he invited himself.

ava shrugged.

"yeah, i guess so!" she accepted.

he let out a celebratory howl, in which got ava to shush him immediately.
